The home was clean and the host was easy to work with however; our family turned around and went to a hotel after staying in the property no more than 10 min. We are familiar with Tulsa (having lived there for 10 years) and were back for a quick weekend trip. Upon arriving to the property, we were greeted with an unpleasant smell and a dehumidifier that was running on high. (The property owner had notified us the dehumidifier was running and could seem loud and would walk us through how to turn it off once we arrived). We turned the dehumidifier off and walked through the home to find beds that were extremely firm and uncomfortable. Additionally, there is a back porch/enclosed room that upon turning lights on, we discovered was a keypad locked area containing many personal items and the only internal access to the backyard (we had our 2 kids with us age 8 & 10).
Upon reading the rules for the house, it is expected that shoes remain off and food remain out of the living room area. The living room furniture has a couch with a taped/broken leg and antique-ish furniture that does.not create a comfortable, relaxing space for a family with children to enjoy.
We have stayed in many VRBO homes in the past and have always had a pleasant experience. We notified the owner that we couldn’t stay in the property because of the smell and the beds and the response was “we require 30 days notice of cancellation for any refunds”.
Overall very disappointing experience.
