We thoroughly enjoyed our 3-night stay at Hotel Cave Konak and wished we were able to stay longer. Our cave room was beautiful, spacious and quite unique. The entire hotel has a beautiful old-world look and feel to it with distinctive architectural accents everywhere. If you're thinking of opting for the Breakfast package - do it! After eating your Turkish breakfast with the homemade jams and Pekmek on the rooftop terrace, you won't want to eat breakfast anywhere else. The breakfast is delicious and views from the terrace are amazing. The terrace is also a great place to end the evening with a bottle of wine enjoying the views and the cool air. Even more amazing than the hotel itslef, is the staff. Colleen and Adnan are exemplary hosts and their knowledge of the surrounding area is priceless. Every day after breakfast Colleen sat down with us to help plan our day of sightseeing. While I had done a lot of research on where to go and what to see, her "inside" knowledge and tips on places to go (some I hadn't even heard of) really made a difference. Colleen and Adnan are both very proud of the work they have put into the hotel, and rightly so. Adnan gave us a tour of some of the other rooms as well as parts of the hotel and caves still undergoing renovation. It was quite fascinating, and really gave us an appreciation of all the hard work that was put into transforming these old buildings and caves into something quite special. This was our favorite stay in all of Turkey.

Staff is unbelievably great!
Cave hotel is unique and beautiful.
Urgup is a charming town.
Ziggy's Restaurant next door is the best kept secret in Cappedocea!
Only challenge is no AIr Conditioning in cave rooms so hot in the afternoon when it was very hot outside.

My fiancee and I wanted to spend New Years Eve in Capadoccia and this hotel did not disappoint. The room was very comfortable and authentic. The staff was friendly and the breakfast each morning was fresh and tasty. I would recommend this location to all. The only thing that would have made the visit perfect was to have a working fireplace in the room as the website stated. The management tried to make the fireplace in the room work, but it only filled the room with smoke. Apparently, there was some parts that were needed, but had not arrived. Other than this our experience at Dere Suites and in Capadoccia was very memorable. I've traveled to 33 countries and stayed in hundreds of different hotels...I would stay here again.

We are a couple. Great location and well fitted out cave rooms, plenty of steps but this added to the attraction. Staff were brilliant and could speak English well. They arranged interesting local trips as well. Breakfasts were very good, evening meals were adequate. We would stay there again.

This is an extraordinary hotel - rooms literally in very very old caves dug centuries ago have been cleaned up and appointed with all the conveniences a traveler would want - and then some! The people at the desk and in the breakfast were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was fulsome and delicious. We had a wonderful time! (The one teeny drawback for older folks is that it is up a long and steep hill - fine to walk down but a challenge to get up especially after some of the lovely local wine - but taxis are plentiful and cheap.)

Family owned and take great pride in insuring your comfort. This was our second visit, the first was two years ago for our honeymoon. I am American and my wife is Turkish, plus we brought our niece and her husband. They heard us say our niece and her husband were newly weds and surprised them by upgrading their room free of charge. Also, while we were gone they put rose pedal in their room with romantic towel swans on the bed. The next day they surprised them with a fruit basket and bottle of wine, very nice of them to put the extra effort into making it special for them. The breakfast was included with our stay and the chef was fantastic and served a European breakfast along with eggs cooked the way you like. We asked for an extra comforter for our room and it was waiting when we got in that night. Manager/owner speaks fluent English and is as nice as they come and will help you out in any way he can. This is why we returned two years later and was treated with open arms and politeness. All rooms are very nice, just depends on how much you want to spend and what size of room you want. Even the basic room is really nice with large beds.
