Parking in the garage was very hard. Entrance and exits were ridculous. We had to get out of car and ask where entrance was and it said exit only, Very tight parking. My lift gate touched the duct work in ceiling

Be sure you’re okay with a twin bed before you ask for a double bed room. Also, don’t let them put you in room 206 if you’re a light sleeper. The entrance to the outdoor patio is right outside your window and people are coming to and from the fitness room right across the hallway constantly.

The cost was low, so good value for hostel lodging. The bar was nice and the restaurant had great food. Breakfast was convenient. Nice, cozy lounge, as well.

The second I arrived the older lady at the desk said you owe us 73 dollars .. I said no I’m fully paid ( have the receipt ) this kept on going back and forth during my stay .. hotel is nice nice and clean but I wasn’t the only one seemingly that was been overcharged left a bad taste would not stay again

I was on D.C. for 1 day for nurses week, I avail the dorm type bunk beds with 4 people in the room. First, there’s no soap, shampoo or other toiletries, i guess the 4 people will share a small bottle. Receptionist are poor in addressing the key card situation. Did not care when I ask for a water.

I was not allowed to have food in my room. I felt like a homeless person had to throw alot of food away. .the Restaurant over charged me for taco they were 14 on the menu charged me 22 Went downstairs to sit on comfortable lady staff told me to go back to my room or she make me leave I already paid for 6 nites all she did was wipe furniture and move chairs she did not vacuumed she treated some others the same way

The common spaces of this hotel are stylish, hip, and functional - and so are the rooms. However, it's clear that the hotel was updated but the bathrooms weren't touched, they're really outdated. I also thought it was so strange that there was no conditioner or body lotion provided. The important thing to note is that a bunch of rooms have bunk beds and because of this there were a lot of young people (late teens/early 20's) staying at the hotel. I almost called down to the front desk because the door slamming late at night was incessant. Lastly, the hotel staff was not friendly or helpful - they were... fine. I went downstairs to see if they had a fork and knife and was not verbally responded to. The person at the desk just turned around, rifled through a drawer and grabbed some for me. I had a few interactions like this and it was pretty off putting. I will say that the location is excellent and within a few short blocks of excellent food, coffee, and shopping. All in all, I don't regret staying here but I don't think I would stay again.

The front desk lady during the day was very rude. Was very snarky and passive aggressive. I get not wanting to be at work but then don’t get a customer facing position I guess. However the lady during the night was amazing. The quality of the hotel has gone down over the years as well and am not as pleased with my room as last time considering it was double the price this time. Will not be staying here for a long time or hopefully never again. I would live if there was an option to get some money back as I feel it is not worth the price to stay here.

We had an awesome time at the generator. The only thing that I did not like the lights could have been a little brighter in the room, and I think housekeeping accidentally threw my facial cleaner in the trash from the bathroom.

You can’t beat the price. However, if you have a roommate that snores and if you get the top bunk bed you probably won’t get good sleep. Beds are comfortable and clean. The area is a walk uphill from Dupont do it’s a little out of the way from restaurants.

BEWARE!!!!!!!!! I am extremely disappointed with my recent stay the Generator Hotel in DC. While the accommodations were alright, I was appalled to discover that there is a $25 facility fee charged per day, which is not disclosed at the time of booking. This deceptive practice is unacceptable and tarnished my overall experience. As a guest, I expect transparency and honesty regarding pricing, and the failure to disclose this fee upfront is deceptive and unethical. It is unacceptable to surprise guests with additional charges upon arrival, especially when they are not informed beforehand. I hope they reconsider this practice and provide full transparency regarding all fees and charges associated with a stay at the hotel. Guests deserve to know the full cost of their stay upfront, without any hidden surprises.

This is was my 2nd stay. It's a funky, clean hotel. The staff are helpful, friendly. There's a small gym and an outdoor pool. There's easy access the the red line metro. My only negative is the very slow elevator.

Loved that lounge was bubbly when I arrived. While the receptionists who checked me in was a little unwelcoming because she was on her phone texting while trying to attend to me, it was an overall great experience. Property is clean and neat, bunk set up is nice, and I love that there is a under-bed locker assigned to each bed- it allows for some privacy. However, pad in mattress is too thin that I woke up achy. Change of mattresses or additional mattress would make sleeping on the bunk beds even better. Lastly, while I somewhat understand the no-food-in-the-dorm rule, I think it makes spending more than one night in the dorm less attractive for those of us who take our time when we eat. Also, I would suggest that this be included on the website so travelers are aware of it as they book, not when they have already booked and are checking in. Overall, it was a fun experience.

This hotel was perfectly located for what we needed. The beds were small but very comfortable. The room was basic with strange art on the wall. There were no glasses or cups in the room, no face clothes. The towels were thin. Our room was across from the gym so it was noisy. The front staff when we checked in were indifferent and did nothing to encourage us. For the convenience I might stay there again.
