The hotel was in a great location and had very helpful staff. However, it is clear when this space was converted into a hotel they did not make an effort to reduce noise between common spaces and guest rooms. My room was on the first floor of the older building (front hotel picture) and it had all of the features advertised however I could hear every footstep in the lobby and second floor, every conversation, the background music of the hotel lobby, the elevator dings and anyone opening or closing their door or the front door. This was a major negative of an otherwise nice stay. There were no particularly loud guests or large groups to blame the sound on it is just an unfortunate design flaw of the space.

You guys cheat costumers. It was on the 18th I booked for check out on 20 because expedia advertises that a room is available. when confirming it automatically shifts you to a separate date. I front up at Pacemaker that it should be corrected but its to no avail. The hotel is blaming Expedia that Expedia was not supposed to advertise, why did they advertise. Expedia blames the hotel for not refunding. This is cheating of customers. you both should be referred to the credit and data bureau.

The staff was friendly, property was well maintained. Excellent location near food/dining and very short walk to the Metro station. The only thing I did not like was vintage elevator. It worked fine but was very jolting when it stopped.

My room had everything needed for a short stay. The building is close to the Metro making getting around town easy. The combination washer/dryer was a bonus.

Room design for a queen bed on the garden level was spacious with full kitchen, modernist bath with glass door shower, and a sofa lounge. Lighting at bed was only overhead track lighting. They need a bedside lamp for bedtime reading so partner can sleep, or when alone, do not have to get up to turn off the overhead lights go sleep. Mattresses too soft for me to sleep well. The staff was pleasant, but were not particularly engaged or focused. Cars were parked in the small entrance driveway blocking pedestrian blocked access to the sole entrance of the hotel. That should be prohibited. It's one thing for cars to drop off baggage for check in and then move to parking elsewhere. It is another thing for have vehicles parking for long periods impeding the main entrance to the hotel. That said, beautiful location and spacious, contemporary rooms.

The front desk ladies were not helpful at all with parking situation. We called before booking their hotel regarding parking option, the information they provided was inaccurate and there's no overnight parking at/next to the hotel. parking garage next door told us we could only leave the car there until 8pm there's no overnight parking. we had to drive away and look for other overnight parking garages. when we reached out to the front desk ladies for help they were not helpful and refused to let us talk to the manager to get more information and help. Will not return to this hotel again. will not recommend to any friends. one of the worst service experienced.

I would avoid this place unless you have to
Not a great place to stay. It’s a great area and the building has charm, but the parking they offered was almost 1/2 mile away. And the AC and washer and dryer didn’t work. It was almost 80 degrees in the room all night. The front desk Dias they’d talk to a manager about comping the room, but nothing…. And I had to spend a whole day of meetings like a zombie due to the lack of sleep. It’s not well managed or taken care of. Oh, and I tried opening a window to get air in that way, but there was a huge rat in the window well and no screens…. So yeah.

I was nervous given the previous reviews on Expedia and Google but it turned out to be a good stay. Mostly clean apartment with some stains on the couch and furniture but no major issues. Reception was empty when I got there, so it was a short wait for someone to show up.

“We decided not to serve breakfast” (notification on day after we checked in). Even though they said the elevator had been inspected, we feared for our life every time we used it….. sliding gate and door like those used in 1950’s. No inspection documentation posted.

When I made the reservation, I had no idea the property is a former mansion built in 1903. Details of the property were quite lovely. Fortunately, there is an elevator to reach the studios upstairs. Unfortunately, the adjacent parking garage was closed, but a staff member showed us the next closet garage 1 1/2 blocks away. All the staff were pleasant and very helpful.

First off the location can't get any better. Definitely the neighborhood to stay in to experience DC. That being said, it was a nightmare trying to switch credit cards as both the hotel and Expedia kept passing the bucket amongst them. I also learned the hard way that you only get room service if you call in the morning. My room had a kitchen and a couch which was nice but there were no lamps. Overall the room met it's purpose for a business trip but could definitely use a renovation for a couples weekend. Don't waste your time on the breakfast since it's really just a glorified snack bar and there so many good restaurants and cafés in the area.

AC was out in the whole building. Sink and showers sputtered even putting out gray water at one point. Staff was nearly completely absent, often not at front desk or answering phone. Breakfast was pretty meh. I know it's a cheap hotel, but like dang y'all.

Upon arrival we had to lug our bags up stairs. We were put in the old building and had to use an elevator from the 1920’s. Once we arrived on our floor we had to go up another flight of stairs with our bags. Terrible breakfast, if any. No washcloths upon arrival, had to ask for more. Had to ask for more soap and caffeinated coffee. On Sat night there was a wedding and we heard the band until 11. Was told after the face that they can be noisy until 11pm. It’s in their policy. We did complain and received 100 credit for poor breakfast. Have not received $ 50breakage deposit back. Staff did try there best to please. Had to ask for room service.

Rooms are like you are staying at a Air BNB. Housekeeping was missed a day and staff need to be reminded that it was requested. Room had termites crawling around windowsill. Staff was attentive at times but didn’t focus on service. Air conditioning in the building was not working and I was not informed of this problem when checking in. A portable unit was a temporary fix but was not effective. I think if the property would step up their service, this would be helpful to getting a better rating. The area is perfect for travelers.
