Very good location for visiting the local attractions. Breakfast available for an extra charge. My room had a balcony with a nice view of the mountains.

It was a classic Austrian Gasthof/hotel, with a bar and restaurant downstairs. The food was excellent. Parking seemed tight, until we realized there was more along the street. The photo on Travelocity’s website doesn’t do it justice. It was very nice. Breakfast was €15, but generous.

Great place!
Enjoyed my night at this quaint, family owned guesthouse. Rooms are a bit dated but very clean and comfortable bed with a gorgeous view! I had dinner in the restaurant and it was delicious. The service was also very good. The on-site parking was perfect. Werfen is a adorable town and everything is within walking distance, including the Sound of Music trail which was absolutely stunning!

The WiFi was odd because it worked only in the lobby & common restaurant area. You would expect it would be setup more for overnight guests staying the 24 hours or so. Rather than restaurant patrons who were there for maybe 1 or 2 hours. Odd. Otherwise the check in, room, atmosphere, town, and staff, especially & including their service, was 110%.

The best of Werfen
Excellent staff and a perfect location for trekking in the dramatic mountains and visiting Burg Hohenwerfen, or Salzburg by train on car. The willage of Werfen has a lot to offer as well. Very service minded staff in the resturant, speaking good English and serving excellent food. A very nice owner - What more can you expect.

Perfect location for walking to the castle and the falcon show is quite entertaining we ate dinner right at the hotel which was convenient and tadty.

we have made a bit mistake as the Eisriesenwelt and the Hohenwerfen Castle still on closing period but the staff and the owner were very nice to us. They let us cancel the room and drop us off at the train station. we will definitely come back to stay at this hotel.

Nice hotel thats in the middle of beautiful mountains. Wifi only worked in the lobby which was a bit of a inconvenience but luckily it was also a restaurant so we got to eat while going online. Staff is very nice. About a 15 minute walk from the station.

No sleep
First off, there is no sign or front desk. I asked a random security guard about the “hotel”. He told me that we had to call the number. After avoiding a few drug pushers in the “lobby” a woman showed up to give us keys to an apartment. Place was very nice except, it’s above several bars with music playing into at least midnight. Best part is construction started at 7am. If you want a nice room, where you can buy crack and not sleep it’s perfect for you.

We love the location and the neighborhood. The area is very peaceful. The hotel itself has a big parking lot. The staff are very friendly. However, it could be nicer if they have provided the kettle. We got the room at the mezzanine floor...the noise from the staircase woke us up but we had a good sleep tho.

Great place to stay
We arrived to beautiful Werfen, a quaint town, with several attractions. The hotel had very friendly people with good food and spacious rooms. They were extremely assistive on calling the bus for the ice caves which stopped right in front of hotel. Restaurant was very large for both guests and locals and served very good food.

We loved this little place because it was close to what we wanted to see. We loved the castle with the falcon show and we hiked to the spot where the meadow scene in the Sound of Music movie was filmed. This town is very quiet and small. It closes up early at night. We did a lot of walking in the area so we enjoyed that. It was hot when we were there so the room was a bit hot but the staff was extremely helpful and the breakfast was extra but great.

Nice hotel in small town
Nice hotel with comfy rooms and nice view outside the hotel. Staff was very helpful, they also call the bus to pick you up in morning for visit to ice caves. Has good dinning area and bar, also 5 mins walk from other restaurants. Only problem is hotel is around 1km from train station which and the road is uphill so difficult to carry luggage. Also its a small town with no taxi service and it was raining when we checked out and had to drag our bags to train station in rain for 15 mins.

Quaint hotel near the Castle
We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel! Our room was really clean and the beds are comfortable. The staff is really sweet and accommodating. We decided at the last minute to stay one more night and they were able to make it happen without over charging us. The hotel is only a 10 minute walk to the castle. The restaurant was surprising really good. It's a great place to stay for some R&R!

Nice little hotel.
The staff of the hotel were all very nice and accommodating. It is a nice hotel in a great location. Situated between the castle, Hohenwerfen and the downtown area of Werfen, you can easily walk to either. Good breakfast, and plenty of space in our room. Would stay here again if visiting Werfen.

Very clean and welcoming hotel. Good breakfast for an extra charge. A beautiful little town surrounded with stunning mountains, very conveniently located to the Eisriesenwelt (the ice cave definitely worth seeing) and an old castle. Easy access to/from the highway, easy parking. The reception desk service is excellent but it is not staffed after 20:00. The wi-fi signal in the room was weak but they were upfront about "wi-fi available in common areas"

The hotel is quite aged but not too bad. The problem was with the desk clerk. The hotel was about 10% full and they put us at the farthest possible place. As soon as I reached the room I tested the wi-fi and it had no signal strength. I asked to be moved and she refused. She would not believe me. I needed to use the wi-fi and had to sit in the hallway to receive a signal. There was nobody on our floor so I could have moved the bed out there and nobody would have noticed. The desk clerk could not have been less helpful. This is not an inexpensive hotel and I would certainly rate it as one to avoid.

The hotel staff was extremely pleasant and helpful. The buffet breakfast was excellent as were both dinners we ate there. The mark down for room comfort was that the room was just too hot. Even with ALL windows open, the room never cooled down before 1:00am. I simple desk fan would have made all of the difference.

Lovely hotel close to castle
We booked this hotel as we were attending a wedding at the castle in werfen and found we were 5 minutes walk away. Scenery was amazing, hotel staff friendly, lovely food, clean room. Tina on reception went out of her way to help us.

Nice clean hotel with friendly front desk. This was just a short stop-over point for us and this hotel was great for that. Breakfast was extra, but good-- Standard fare for Europe- Breads, cheese, meat, some other items. All good. Recommend.

Beautiful location, friendly staff, great service, brand new rooms. This hotel is set in the picturesque town of Werfen, about a half hour south of Salzburg. If you want to see some beautiful scenery outside of Salzburg, it's here! You can see the Hohenwerfen fortress from the road and either hike or take a tram up to it. They have a great falconry demonstration that totally awed us. The Hallein salt mines are a short train/bus ride away. We did not tour the ice caves. The hotel is a bit of a train ride from Salzburg so if you just want to see the city, it's not the best choice, but it is very doable for a day trip. All in all, we loved it!

I was very pleasantly surprised with the hotel. My room was very large, nice furniture, modern bathroom, and very clean. The staff was very friendly. The restaurant nice with efficient service and tasty food at a good price. The hotel is very conveniently located off the highway and right near the castle and ice caves. A very enjoyable stay at a very low cost. Highly recommended.

Nice hotel, very friendly staff but please check before you travel because we arrived at 1PM after a long train journey only to find that the hotel didn't open until 5PM!! Beautiful little town and surrounding mountains are very picturesque plus the train station is only half a mile away - well worth a visit here but please please check before you go as not only did we have a 4 hour wait for the hotel to open but we also discovered that the main attractions of the castle and ice caves were both closed!!

Great Hotel
The location was perfect for us! We were going ot the ICE CAVES that next day. The hotel staff also were very helpful and explained they had a shuttle bus from the hotel as well. They provided us with any info we needed for our journey! Breakfast free and good. We ate dinner there as well and were very satisifed. Room was small, but we asked for it..and price was right!

Das Hotel liegt perfekt für einen Ausflug zu den Eiswelten und der Burg. Das Zimmer war für 2 Erwachsene und ein Kind ausreichend. Das Frühstück sehr standardmäßig. Das Restaurant ist sehr gut.
