The hotel was very good, excellent breakfast The staff were very friendly and made my stay perfect The only downside about it was that the hotel was a bit remote from the town of Bruges

I have no words on how wonderful this property is. We stayed for two nights and LOVED it. The rooms are so comfortable. The staff AMAZING. The best breakfast. Our next stop was Amsterdam, we stayed at the DoubleTree. The Hotel Butller could teach a thing or two to the DoubleTree. You guys are awesome.

The property is on a main road, not busy road. So easily found. The whole property is beautiful and cutely decorated. They have a wonderful lounge area in the basement. We used the resturant for breakfast. everything was perfect. Nothing was too much for the management.

Our family of 4 had a wonderful stay at Hotel Butler. We had a family room which was incredibly spacious, quiet, and comfortable. The hosts greeted us upon arrival with a big smile. They were very helpful and had lists of recommended restaurants around the area already printed. The breakfast was great and a lot of work and care must have gone into making little containers with all sorts of different nuts, seeds etc. They also had little glasses with cut up fruit that made you feel you were in a high end restaurant. Very impressed by this family-run property and I highly recommend you support them by booking your next stay here!

Fantastic country getaway
It was great. The owners run the whole Place and are incredibly accommodating! They made a great breakfast too! Very homey and wonderful. Would highly recommend!!

Hotel Butler - A family run hotel
Overall a very comfortable stay. The hosts are very passionate about their place and work really hard to maintain it. The room we stayed at was the family suite and the bathroom was uncomfortable to use since the walls curve in and we kept banging our heads on the wall. There is only one pedestal fan and for a person sleeping in an extreme corner its really hot. Since there is no A/c, we had no choice but to leave the window open which was very noisy since this hotel is situated on a highway. Apart from that breakfast was very good and I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Owners are fantastic. Helped us out with everything we needed and went above and beyond. Breakfast is huge, rooms are clean and comfy, and the hotel is a 10 second walk from a bus stop. We had a great stay.

We had a lovely weekend at the Butler. Very nice owners with big smile on face. The hotel located outside Bruges, only 10 min drive and it’s only 10 min from sea as well. Easy access and free parking.

Great place to stay.
Marvelous place and people. We'd booked a family room and got a suite. Quiet despite being on a main road. Easy access to Bruges and to Blankenberg. Breakfast was excellent-enough to feed an army.

Fantastic room away from the city
Lovely little hotel near Bruges. Very comfortable bed, good size room and easy to locate. Quiet area perfect for getting a good night's sleep. Is rather out of the way with nothing much in walking distance around. However, if you are driving like I was it's the perfect place to stay. If the hotel was in a city centre it would cost 3 times as much. Would definitely go back there.

Nice family boutique hotel and nice hosts Mr&Mrs.Butler including lovely children helping his mum at the counter. Enjoyed the stay, good service or helping hand such as providing local information, map, parking options, restuarants at discounted price and excellent breakfast. Would reccomend others and if we ever plan to visit Belgium or onroute, would visit again. thanks.

Felt like living back home
Hotel was nice, but felt quite a bit of pressure from the owner. On arrival we were given the tour of the room, with strict instruction. We were told not to use the child's bed in the room, not even rest clothes on it. We were also told to have our suit cases out of the way so it wouldn't inconvenience the cleaner. Afterwards it really reminded me of living at home with mum. There were labels on everything, 'please close door' was on the fridge for example. There were also instructions with the toilet paper, how not under any circumstance to flush it down the toilet. I did flush it down the toilet, and left pretend wet toilet paper in the bin provided. Neither of us felt comfortable leaving that behind. The shower, to use a phrase from Jeremy Clarkson, felt like an asthmatic was coughing on you through a straw, very, very low pressure. I had to kneel in the bath to scoop water onto my head to rinse out the shampoo. Overall I wouldn't not recommend it, but be prepared to do as your told.

Hello, Thanks for your stay and review. Because you had a triple with 2 persons, we just ask not to use the third bed. The labels which are in the room are just reminders not to waste useless energy. Off course you can flush toilet paper through the toilet, just not sanitary napkins or special wet paper. This is prohibited in every hotel. If there was a problem with the shower you could have told it to us, so we can solve the problem. Thanks anyway. Bart Degroote, owner.

Great family-run hotel near Bruges
This family-run hotel is excellent! The rooms are very clean and well-decorated. The breakfast includes home-made jam with bakeries ans bread amongst yogurts, fruits, nuts, cereals, etc. Extra points for the speculoos spreading paste. Classic buffet but very good! :) The only minor minor default I'd mention about the room is the fact that my partner and I got jointed single beds. Other than that, really small, enjoyable and cozy hotel. Big thumbs up for the couple owning the place (I forgot their name) they were massively helpful when we showed up around midnight without letting them know in advance (our mistake). Convenient and quiet location if you have a car (or a bike maybe), you'll love this hotel either way!

Outstanding!
Hotel Butler is a warm, welcoming and pretty boutique hotel. Our room was very spacious and comfortable and the breakfast was lovely and plentiful. The owners were very friendly and helpful and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We will definitely be returning for another visit and would highly recommend this hotel.

Very cute
Very clean and cute. Excellent breakfast except they were a touch rude upon our departure. Nevertheless I would recommend staying here. We had a car and it's a ten minute drive to the centre. Bruges is nowhere near as nice as Prague but very cute and well worth visit.

Rude and Racist
unpleasant. the owners were rude and racist. They probably do not meet many people outside of their country but were clearly displeased with me and my friend the minute upon arrival (the wife especially). we stayed the night nonetheless. the hotel photos are misleading - the sheets were thin, and the room was hot. the window only opened about 2 inches. After check out, I was making a phone call indoors due to the rain outside. the Male owner of the house rudely glares at me and asks in a harsh tone "why are you still here, you've checked out, go. are you fighting with your girlfriend or something" and proceeds to make his point known that he wants me out of the place. never have I ever met such unkind and disgusting people and been mistreated with so much disrespect and discrimination. please do not stay here. give your money to honest and good owners - but not these people.

Would stay there again!
Spent four nights there on recent visit to Bruges and surrounding area. Although out of town it was an ideal spot to drive into Bruges and Blankenberge (about 10mins drive each) and also to tour the surrounding area. Room was really nice and spacious at the back of the hotel with a view over the fields and railway line (Room 48) and yes its on a main road between Bruges and Zeebrugge but noise was not excessive and was quiet at night anyway. Plenty of parking on site with more than enough spaces for all the 12 rooms. Bart and Isabelle were wonderful hosts with lots of useful tips on the area (and the cheapest place to park in Bruges for the day!) and made sure that our stay was excellent and that we didn't want for anything. Breakfasts were excellent with plenty of choice to set you up for the day. My only piece of constructive feedback is to put some tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms :-) Lots of the area we didn't see due to some poor weather at the start so would definitely stay there again when we return to Belgium.

Great little place just outside Bruges
This nice little hotel is located just outside Bruges which suited us as we had a car and there is ample parking available. We were pleasantly surprised that Bruges has a LOT of parking for a reasonable price (3 EUR/day) - even over the Easter weekend. The hotel is small and cozy, the front facing on to a main road and the back onto some fields. Breakfast was good - cooked eggs and bacon, pastries, cereals and cold meats/cheeses. A nice little touch was the chocolate eggs on Easter Sunday. The room was comfortable - we were lucky to get a room facing the fields out the back so it was quiet, the beds and bathroom of a good standard. It's a 3 star on Hotels.com but I think it's definitely on the upper side of that rating.

Lovely hotel
The stay was very welcoming, cosy, with loads of nice decorations. Very quiete, and tasty and healthy breakfast every morning. Very convenient place as it has free parking outside hotel and close by to Brugge aswell as very easy to get to Ghent. Also there are a big supermarket close by where you can get loads of gifts for less than in the city centre. Owners are really nice too, they gave us advice on parking in Brugge and in Ghent which costs 3 euros for whole day. Also they suggested many places to visit and they were very welcome to help us with any query we had. One of the best hotels we ever been.

Lovely family hotel. Beautiful original decor and well kept building. Service and welcome fantastic. Breakfast excellent. Only one complaint. We booked room with double bed and got two single beds put together as one. Location meant to go anywhere unless you use taxis then you need to drive to go to coast or Bruges city centre.

positives: Hotel was very nicely decorated (modern homey) , very comfortable and clean. Hosts were very pleasant was knowledgeable about the area and brudges. Free parking. I really enjoyed how they did up the place - felt very comfortable and with character, yet modern (but not too modern that you lose the character). Negatives: In the middle of no where so will require car otherwise would be inconvenient to get to. No tea and coffee facilities in the room (seems to be common in Belgium tho) and no on site dinner (hence car is important).

Great Location
We planned a trip to visit Blankenberge and Bruges! The Hotel Butler is ideally located between both, if you are driving, and offers free car parking! A lovely family run Hotel, we had room 48 at the rear of the hotel overlooking farmland which was very quiet! The room was very clean and spacious! We stayed for two nights 11th and 12th June 2014 before moving on! My wife particularly enjoyed the decor! Isabella and Bart were very friendly, and gave positive advice on local restaurants, and a useful map of Bruges, and where to park for 3.50 euros a day, in Bruges and get a free courtesy bus into the centre! A great help! We would certainly stay there again! Thank you!

A hotel with very cute and well thought decoration. Good size rooms, and very comfy beds. The owners are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was ok. Ok location if you drive otherwise very difficult to get into Brugge. For the price we payed, I call it perfect!
