Beautiful House
Loved this house so much!! What a dream. Being able to look at and listen to the sea from any room in the house, being able to run off the front deck down a private path to the beach, nothing is better! But the house was also gorgeous and perfect, and I hope to go back in the summer.

Overall? 4.5 /5. Would stay again. The house is beautiful, location is perfect and stunning. The reason for half star gone is the kitchen utensils/ tools need serious upgrades. The propane being empty was a hassle (easy fix, but had to make 2 store runs on a vacation where we wanted to be homebodies) for this price point we just expected smooth sailing. They did their best to make it right. Thank you for lovely memories!

Amazing Views
The ocean views from this house are fantastic, especially from the master bedroom. The layout of the house, inside and out, allows for a lot of space to spread out and relax. Use of the garage is also a huge bonus. All the amenities worked great and we didn’t have any problems at all.The house was clean, but could use a deep cleaning (inside the kitchen drawers were a little grimy and there was old food and ketchup in the knife block). You could tell that this house is a gem architecturally and with some love and updates could be a 5* vacation home.

Best Views & Ocean Breeze
We loved this home - I wish it would have been a longer trip. We stayed 2 nights. The views were fantastic. I enjoyed listening to and watching the waves. The kitchen was stocked well. The master bathroom was beautiful. Unfortunately, the hot tub did not work. The kids were pretty disappointed. The property manager responded quickly when we reached out about the hot tub. I asked for late checkout in exchange and it was granted.

Great, but…
No complaints other than receiving zero notice that the hot tub advertised was out of commission and not scheduled to be fixed until we’ll after our stay. That resulted in two very sad kids who were looking forward to the hot tub (their favorite amenity of any house).

It was a chilly spring break but with wet suits the teenagers had a blast surfing the waves. Fabulous views from this home and we had a lovely stay.

Winter at the Beach
Our family often goes to the coast for a winter getaway. Our daughter’s family has stayed numerous times at the Jaeger home but it was my first time there. It’s a lovely and cozy place to stay especially when the wind is howling and the temperature is below freezing. The kitchen is well stocked and made cooking all of our meals in an enjoyable experience. Can’t wait to return to enjoy all of the outdoor spaces this home has to offer. Thank you!!

Amazing view, great house!
We had a wonderful stay at this lovely house. The view cannot be beat and the house was as shown in the photos. The spaces are divided really well for a family trip —bedrooms are quiet even if people are up and socializing in the livingroom/kitchen area. Kitchen was great for cooking. Hot tub was wonderful. Would rent again!

Very disappointed - Home is poorly maintained
We arrived on an unusually hot Saturday just after 4 pm and the home temperature was 82 degrees. We knew the home didn't have AC, so we promptly tried to cool the home down by opening doors and windows. So this is where the disappointment begins and kept on going...First screen doors in really bad shape, coming off the track and when you do get them to stay on, with any breeze, they fly open on the bottom. Thus, letting lots of bugs into the home. Several windows broken, and won't open. Pulled the car in the garage and found a full garbage can that reeked, plus a garbage bag left outside of can. There was a garbage can outside half empty, so why is garbage left in garage? Plus, my husband noticed maggots by the garage door opening. Immediately red flags begin on the cleanliness of this home. As a previous guests mentioned (VRBO and VACASA) carpets are extremely stained, kitchen counter and stove top had left over food substances. Half bath toilet had urine stains on underside, master bath shower was plugged, lower level bathroom toilet plugged, We later encountered burned out light bulbs-back deck, BBQ area, and master bath recessed can lights. Tried to light the outside fire pit, but no lighter as indicated on directions. So, we tried to make the best of it for two days...enjoyed walks on the beach with our dog and took in the views from the decks. Speaking of dogs....forgot to mention the abundance of dog feces left around the home. Not our dog....promise! I truly hope this review gets posted and others are warned about this homes condition, or just maybe the management team could address some of these issues!

Disappointing
This is a beautiful home that has fallen into disrepair. It is such an amazing location. I wish someone loved and cared for this house. CONS We visited the last week in August. Weather outside was at a high of 70-75 on average. Interior of the house would get over 85 degrees around 5:30 pm. Insufferable around dinner time. There is/are no ac, no ceiling fans, no floor fans, no real window coverings/drapes. Several windows are not covered at all. Leaving all doors/windows open doesn’t make any difference except in the early morning and late evening/night. There is a horn/whistle that blows constantly in the distance. Possibly from a lighthouse and may be heard by some but not others. Screen doors are broken from the rails and swing back and forth. Many windows are broken and won’t open. Neighbors directly to the right do not seem real keen on transient neighbors which I can understand. Husband said “hello” but wife growled something at me under her breath. The carpets are quite dirty which was mentioned in a review over 30 days ago. They need to be deep cleaned, not simply vacuumed. Drain in the master shower will back-up if both shower heads are used at the same time. Handles on drawers and closets literally DROP off. The bath towels have strong smell of mold even though they are clean. The scent of mold also permeates rooms in the house when it is very hot so there may be issues with ventilation on hotter days. The problems I’ve mentioned here aren’t things I could have “called in” to management. It will take weeks or months for these repairs. PROS Housekeeping does a great job getting things cleaned within their control. The layout is cool - master on what could be a third floor, two other bedrooms on a basement level. No upstairs noise in any bedroom. Lovely open kitchen with high end appliances. Microwave didn’t work very well. AMAZING views. VERY private even though there are houses closely adjacent. Very short walk to paved path down to the beach perfect for strollers/bikes. Beaches were not crowded, especially on weekdays and early morning. Very comfortable couches and beds. A NEW dish sponge in the wrapper and small bottle of Palmolive for dishes was provided. This is always a really big deal to me. It’s so gross to find an old/used dish sponge dripping in the soap dish. This is a small touch that goes a long way with me.

Great views, but house is run down
We visited this property 2 years ago and we were very much looking forward to coming back. Sadly, upon our return it appeared the house was not well maintained. There are windows that don’t work properly, blinds that are broken, rugs needed a serious cleaning/replacement, and dog debris on the property. On one of our last days, someone tried to break into my husbands car at 4am. We decided to leave a day early because of this. It is so sad the neighborhood has changed so much.

Beautiful Spot
Our family vacation was lovely - so much outdoor seating and places to explore. Getting down to the beach is a bit of a struggle but we made do. If you plan to take a lot of items with you (chairs, wagon, beach toys) it will take some maneuvering. For us, the weather was foggy most of the time but we still had a lovely time. Sleeping arrangements were comfortable, the beach waves provided the most beautiful lulling to sleep, and the kitchen was well-equipped for cooking. We would love to come back!

I agree with the other reviews listed here. Beautiful views, private, and relaxing, but the home needs some TLC for the pricepoint of $800 a night. There is a drop off to the beach and you have to climb down. However, you can walk a 1/2 block down and get to an easier accesss point. The other houses are close, but people are polite and no one was staying next door to us. The master is on the 2nd floor, the other two bedrooms are in a walk out basement. Cons: Once you add in fees this home is $800 a night. For that price the amenities should be better. The towels are scratchy, the dishes are chipped, the teflon cookware is all scratched up, the carpets are so dirty, the sliding doors don't shut, some windows don't open or close. Pros: The view, the beach, the hot tub was so clean, outdoor space is comfortable with a fire table, lots of outdoor seating, lots of windows to look out, and the home was clean when we got there. We had a great time walking on the beach and sitting in the hot tub. So relaxing! Cute town, everything is 8 minutes away.

Amazing beach views!
The location and design of this house can’t be beat and how it takes advantage of the ocean views and provide privacy as well. Loved the view from the master bedroom as well and falling asleep to the wonderful ocean sounds! The house was very clean and so was the hot tub. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and can’t wait to come back!

Peaceful, relaxing anniversary on the coast
This home and location are perfect! We thoroughly enjoyed the peace and quiet with beautiful, unobstructed ocean views. The inside fireplace and hot tub right off the deck were much enjoyed bonuses. We spent several days just enjoying the sights and sounds of the ocean. However, Westport, a quaint little fishing town and marina are an easy 6 minute drive from the property. One of our best anniversary trips yet. Thank you so much!

Spectacular home with an amazing view! The outdoor space is incredibly comfortable with a perfectly placed hot tub. The master bathroom was the best part of the house, dual walk in shower & jetted infinity tub! Wake up to the waves crashing outside your bedroom slider. Private beach access with hardly anyone around. We truly enjoyed ourselves!

Amazing views and fun!
Our weekend was amazing! Lots to love at this place. The walk to the ocean was right there. Use the trail outside the front door vs the back deck and you can go straight to the beach! Lots of board games we loved playing and perfect deck for relaxing. Only thing I hoped for was the fire pit at night and there wasn’t one. It was removed. But I’d still come back and the rooms and baths were just awesome. Hot tub was so so so fun and felt new since it was a nicer one ive seen. The location was perfect. I could cook while watching my kiddo in it. The views rocked! Thanks we will be back!

This house worked great for our group- 4 adults and 2 kids. The upstairs has a large suite with huge bathtub and double shower, large closet and bedroom all with unobstructed views out to the water. There’s also a little desk and sitting area between the two. The downstairs has one queen bed and two twins with a good size bathroom and full size washer/dryer. There was a half bath in the entry hallway. The living room, dining , and kitchen has an open space with large windows out onto the deck with the view of the water. The hot tub was new and clean and a great spot to relax. As some reviews had mentioned, the path you can see directly to the beach is actually a 6-10 foot drop down to the beach. It was possible to jump down, but not back up. There was a boardwalk that was much easier to get down about a 5 min walk down to the beach which worked fine. The neighborhood was very quiet and had a good safe (and flat) street for kids to ride bikes. Short drive into town to candy/toy store, kite shop, wine and more. Nice deck with lots of seating to enjoy the views of the water and sunset. The kitchen could use more measuring cups and the sliding screen doors were not attached at the bottom, but otherwise we had a great stay and would definitely consider staying at this house again!

Great location close to the beach. Not completely baby proofed but good for a few days. Missing some basic things like: tin foil, plastic wrap, ziploc bags, paper towels. But overall, amazing property with great access to the beach. Outdoor area was great for hanging out and the hot tub was very clean. Smelled like vacation as soon as we walked through the door!

Beautiful location
This is a nice beachfront home. When staying at the ocean I expect there will be minor cosmetic or maintenance issues. That was the case here. Based on the cost per day and the fees, there were more issues than I would have expected. Taken individually, not a big deal, but they started to add up. Pros: beachfront location, hot tub, private back deck, master bath jetted tub, property manager was very responsive Cons: front door lockbox did not work on arrival, screens missing from doors/windows (it's hot in the summer with no AC and we couldn't open the doors/windows unless we wanted bugs inside), cabinet facing falling off, ant traps on the countertops, path to beach not well maintained, outdoor firepit did not work, door knobs missing, burned out lightbulbs, “gourmet” kitchen not well stocked with cookware, overall cleanliness and furniture wear It's a nitpicky list. Again, if it was just a couple things – no big deal, but this home (in my opinion) needs some TLC to charge the premium for “luxury”. For me it comes down to how much of the extra cost for an oceanfront rental at the peak of summer is just for the location, and not the other amenities I expect for the price point.

Great house and location
This was a great house and amazing location. Very private, short walk to the beach. One of the better vacation rentals I have stayed at. A few minor items that I did not report as they weren't that annoying. Lower bedrooms were very humid (even with a humidifier running 24/7) Cable TV in living room was not functional due to a bad cable connector to the box.

Great house with great views
This a very nice home with wonderful ocean views throughout. We also enjoyed the quality and comfortable furnishings in the home. Although there are a few general maintenance items that could be addressed to make the home even better like replacing/repairing burnt out light bulbs, running toilet, screen doors, yard and landscaping maintenance particularly since this is a dog friendly home it would be helpful for potty break areas. Also cleaning crew could tune up a bit on detailed cleaning like cob webs and nook and cranny vacuuming/dusting tasks. I would still recommend staying here and we would go back.

Westport for a wedding
Overall we enjoyed our stay in Westport. The location is wonderful. Close walk to a lovely, wide, sandy beach. The home had some issues however; three of the sliding screen doors screens were completely blown out which didn't do much for mosquito abatement! Although the kitchen is nicely equipped with older upscale appliances (Wolf, Sub-Zero), it is far from a gourmet kitchen as touted. Dull knives, non stick pans with coating flaking off! The two bikes supplied were in the garage, however both had flat tires and the pump didn't work! We called and later that afternoon they left a new pump, which we used, but after it became apparent that the tubes are shot and wont hold air. So no biking around this idyllic peninsula for us :( I would return here if they assured me the screens were repaired and I could ride a bike around. Although I might bring my own knives and frying pan.

Great location but needs maintenance and pest control.
Family of 4 and the grandparents stayed at this house for 1 night. Great location and a beautiful house. However it needs maintenance and pest control. There were Millipedes EVERYWHERE (on the carpet, in the tab, on the wall, on the bathroom floors (every single bathroom), etc) in the house. We saw a mouse and a tons of droppings in the living room. All the screen doors were ripped, so we had to close all the windows and it was so hot in the house. No one slept well. Curtains are off the rail. Lightbulbs were out. Master bath is beautiful, but the shower doesn't drain. Our daughters were so afraid of possibly seeing more mice and Millipedes; they couldn't sleep. Our youngest daughter was in tears and asked us to leave the house. The house has so much potential, but we were very disappointed.

Beautiful home on the oceanfront!
My family and I booked this home for two night to enjoy with my wife, son and daughter-in-law and two grandkids. One of the first things we noticed was just how high-end of a home this was. The layout was well thought out when they built it. The kitchen boasted some of the best of the best appliances that all worked perfectly. The master bedroom has you waking up looking out to the ocean with not another house in view. I could go on and on with all of the unique aspects of this home. It truly is a must see to respect. Thank you to the owners for sharing this house with us.

House needs a lot of work for the price...
The house has great potential, but is in need of many repairs; broken bathroom pocket door doesn't close AT ALL, sliding glass doors difficult to close, screens off tracks, kitchen faucet neck so loose it swings and hits already damaged wall, TV never worked. Front door wouldn't unlock. Called for help and got code to a second key in lock box as though that happens a lot. Very few amenities for a luxury price; no hand towels in bathroom, kitchen needs pans, new cookie sheet, pitcher, mixing bowls, larger cutting board. House very dusty with cobwebs everywhere. Need directions for Swedish washer. Cameras outside home point inside too and stickers warn "you may not see cameras, but cameras see you". Creepy. And a sensor in the hall lights with movement, but not sure what it was for?

We are sorry to see you had so many disappointments and frustrations with your stay. We went to the home to inspect the items you mentioned in your review. The TV was working; the washer/dryer have all directions and settings in English; the screens on the doors slide out when windy, but they do not come off the track; the sliding glass door was working well, all pocket doors were working, and the front door is always locked; we have plans to replace the pans prior to the busy summer season; there is one camera on the outside awning facing the parking lot for security purposes; the faucet is one with a head that you can pull out for a longer reach and then retract back to its place. We hope we've covered everything you mentioned, and hope even more you'll give us another chance to impress you. Thank you!
