Wonderful location!
This is a comfortable house in a wonderful waterfront location. The fireplace is nice, and the grill on the porch is a very good one. We could not get the firepit to work, but it looks like it would be fun, too. There are lightweight chairs to take to the beach for sunset cocktails, which is one of the highlights of a stay here.

Wedding weekend
Great location, had 10 adults in the house but plenty of room and bathrooms! Mattresses a bit firm but overall bedrooms were great. Had a bit of issue with cleaning service but owners responsive and really not a big deal.

Great stay on the water
The listing description and pics are accurate. It’s in a very peaceful, fairly remote location. We enjoyed the small town feel. It was quiet and the neighbors were friendly. There was a kayak and paddle board available but we brought our own kayak. There were plenty of towels and sheets that were clean. Opening the shades provided lots of sunshine and amazing views of the water from different areas of the house and there was a short fence around most of the property so we could let the dog loose there. The water had more current than I realized but I don’t know if that was due to the weather when we were there and there were jellyfish in the water to be wary of (late august) but no biting flies. We were able to catch crabs in the water. It’s a large property that could use a little landscaping. The owners were very communicative. Oh, the dryer worked and we thought the beds were comfortable. All in all a wonderful stay.

Location!
The property location was excellent, right on the water. Quiet neighborhood. There were 9 of us and the house had plenty of room. That being said, we did have concerns about how well the property had been cleaned. Also, there were not enough towels but luckily one of us came a day late and was able to bring towels. We were able to contact the property manager easily to correct this. He was very concerned and after a couple of hiccups, it was solved. We enjoyed our stay. If you like seafood, try J&W Seafood in Deltaville. Great crab cakes!

Biggest issue was the dryer didn’t work. David was very responsive, friendly, and accommodating. Beautiful views and NO-KIDDING beach privacy.

Great Private Beach Access
Easy walk to private beach, even w all our “beach stuff” & a 21 month old. Beautiful porch view of water. Plenty of space throughout the home. Kitchen was huge & open which made it so easy to share the kitchen chores. Family enjoyed trying the paddle board. Was an easy 7 minute drive into town. We had a Wonderful stay!!

Cozy place and amazing views. It could use some landscape fixes..the walk to the beach is on broken wooden planks but doable. The beach is a small strip that winds around different properties. Could be much more fun in summer than during the summer we went on for. The views from the rooms are amazing...

Lovely property great for groups!
We had an amazing time and the house was very well equipped. Wonderful for our family including kids, grandparents, and dogs! Just wish the mattresses were a bit more comfortable. Definitely a gorgeous spot.

The family went for a quick weekend trip to this great property. It was the first time to this area and we loved it. The property has a huge beach which we all enjoyed. The house had a great open floorplan on the first floor which we loved.

Nice & Peaceful
We were looking for a nice peaceful trip away from our home. We found it here. The weather was not great for beach time while we were here but we went anyways a couple of times. The neighborhood is very quiet. The closest town is very nice and has an excellent small town feel. The house is big and roomy and was more than we expected. We would love to stay there again during warmer weather. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your lovely home.

Great private retreat
We really enjoyed our stay and the location was excellent. The private beach is hard to beat. Its very private ,perfect for our dog to play. We saw dolphins, eagles and a number of other birds. It's a very relaxing location with amazing sunsets. The house is as advertised. It has a great layout with a great kitchen. Everything you need is there. The views and decks are really nice. It was our first visit to the Whitestone area. There are really great restaurants and stores nearby to enjoy. Thank you for the great getaway. Vic , Bridget & Roxy!

Fantastic Beach House
This is a spectacular place. By far the best private beach we've been to or seen in the Northern Neck. 5 Minutes from White Stone. As others have noted, the house is well stocked with even more amenities than the post lets on. Chairs, kayak, toys, stocked kitchen, games, etc. The hosts were extremely responsive and accommodating, including promptly taking care of an issue that was out their control. We hope to come back in the early summer.

Relaxing Vacation
Had a very relaxing time staying here and thoroughly enjoyed the beach area and views. Local food was excellent and area was quiet and calm. Would highly recommend staying here! Only suggestions would be improvement on comfort of mattresses for master suites on upper and lower level as it was difficult to sleep in them multiple nights in a row. Otherwise perfect vacation!

Gorgeous Private Relaxing Getaway
Gorgeous house and property. Beautiful and private beach. Owners have thought of everything and were very easy to get a hold of when we had questions! Plenty of seating areas, porches, outdoor chairs, towels, dishes, pots/pans, games, etc. All of the attention to detail in this rental made this one of our best and most relaxing vacations ever! perfect location
We had a rough start due to previous renters, but luckily we made quick work of settling in. Owners quickly responded and compensated for the issues. Beach is beautiful, clean sand and clear water. Private. we did see the dolphins several times, along with sting rays, horseshoe crabs. The large pond in front of house(secluded ) has frogs that come out at night to visit, cling to windows- kids loved them. Hummingbirds, butterflies. Temperatures were hot, 90-100. Definitely recommend water shoes for the hot sand. Outdoor pathway area needs a little TLC, completing the wooden walkway to beach would make a huge improvement.

Relaxing getaway for all ages
This is by far the best home we have stayed in in regards to amenities and supplies. There is even an RO water system so no need to spend money on cases of water. The floorplan worked really well with our group to allow downtime apart or gatherings all together. We were able to fish from the shore and fry them up for dinner the same night. The water is just nice enough for small children to play for hours. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!

Everything was perfect. Great way to spend the 4th.
We had a great stay at the Strand. Great location and great house. We enjoyed the convenience of the beach being just steps away. The upstairs deck is a great place to escape the sun! We loved playing board games up there in the evenings.

Family Fun Beach Week
Family of 10 ages 73 to 2, awesome week on the beautiful sandy beach. Water was a perfect temperature. Crabbing, fishing, swimming, paddle boarding, boating, watching the dolphins and stingray swimming by each day were the highlights of the week. The house slept all of us comfortably, however king and queen bed mattresses weren't the best. The kitchen was fully equipped for making meals for our big family and had a great table for all of us to sit and enjoy meals together. The new water in the kitchen we used to fill our Yeti's before hitting the beach. Beautiful sunsets from the upstairs porch. The boardwalk to the beach needs a little work. Great week and we can't wait to go again next year!

Great Week at the River!
We had three generations of our family for a 6 day get-a-way situated right on the Rappahannock River. This spacious home was the most well-stocked of vacation rentals we’ve ever had!! The second story deck was a favorite for visiting in the late afternoon, the main deck is the length of the home and was perfect for games, too. The beach was a very very short walk from the house, making it possible to do both morning and afternoon water play with the children. Our group of 7 had plenty of room to spare in this well-organized home. We will definitely be back— many times! Thank you, Lynne and David for the great time!

We had a great time in this beautiful house. The kitchen had everything we needed. It was our family and we had friends come do a family photo shoot on the beach. We haven't done a family picture in at least 10 yrs!! The weather was perfect with the beach right there to wander back and forth.

Amazing Location - Day and Night
This was the perfect place to unplug and make great family memories. With 2 decks, 3 common areas, and the beach, there was always space to spread out but also ample communal space to all gather together and take in the spectacular sunsets over the water or nighttime star gazing. There is full fencing surrounding the house, so I appreciated the peace of mind to let my dog wander. The only downside was the water issue that others raised - we also opted for some large jugs bought at the local store for any drinking needs.

Spring Break
This is a fantastic property to get away from it all. The location is peaceful, the scenery gorgeous, and the location private. The house has an outstanding view of the river, beach access, and plenty of room for a large group. We had several children who were able to hide away and entertain themselves while the adults found space to enjoy themselves. More importantly the owners where extremely responsive to questions and requests. We really appreciate them accommodating the two elder dogs we had with us and frankly the space and beach front was perfect for our four legged companions. If you are looking for peace, a place to slow down for a few days, and private location, this is the house.

Beautiful Week at the River!
We enjoyed our stay at the river immensely. We loved the view from the deck and spent as much time out there as we could as well as out on the beach which the kids and dog especially liked. The water was too cold for human swimming though some in the family did a version of the Polar Plunge just to say they did it. I could see it being a lovely spot for swimming with small kids in the summer. The gorgeous sunsets were an added bonus and sunrises if we woke up that early! Kayaking and fishing were also enjoyed (we brought our own but the house did have one but we did not use it). The wildlife was fun to watch as well-- we saw a fox, a beaver, turtle, wild turkey as well as many other types of birds. The house was comfortable and well supplied with towels, bed linens and kitchen equipment. The bin of first aid items in the laundry room is a nice touch though thankfully we didn't need it. The water was a little off so we just used bottled water for drinking for the week but there may have been some kind of water filtration that didn't work as the tank under the sink never refilled so one might want to plan to bring some water or put it on the shopping list. The area was fun to explore and we visited Kilmarnock, Deltaville, Irvington and Belle Isle State Park. The house is nicely situated to easily access both sides of the river for sightseeing and shopping as well as grabbing take out from the many local restaurants. It's a great house and we truly had a lovely week. We were mistaken for the new owners several times by friendly neighbors and we said "We wish!!" The only negatives would be a few small maintenance issues that could be addressed for guest comfort and convenience but did not affect our enjoyment of the house. Would definitely recommend this house to friends and family looking to stay in the area.

David and Lynn’s place is beautiful and very peaceful. We had a great time relaxing and taking long walks and our teens were able to do online school with no issues The house is perfect and spacious. We watched breathtaking sunsets, and had a great time overall. We truly recommend this place

Amazing getaway!
We had an amazing time getting together with family! The house was very spacious and equipped with everything we needed. The decor was beautiful and comfortable, and it was beautifully designed with many different gathering spaces for maximum flexibility. The owners were extremely attentive to all our questions. Although the weather was cold, we really enjoyed walking down to the beach and exploring the property. We especially appreciated having our own bathroom with each bedroom. Amazing place to catch up with family, play games, cook, and enjoy an escape away from home!

Nice Family Getaway
An amazing location. It’s secluded, but also easy to run into town for food or supplies. The beach was wonderful, birds and other wildlife abound, and we never got tired of the views and sunsets! We loved all the space the house had. We could easily have fit another family with us, and there were enough separate spaces that everyone had a spot to relax with a book, play a game or whatever. We thought the upstairs den was a really unique space to gather and play a board game in the late afternoon. We had to give it two stars for the cleanliness when we first arrived, but the owners were very quick to address the issues to our satisfaction. We would also recommend bringing some bottled water as a back-up for the water filtration system in the house.
