Nobody showed us to our room! Shower was freezing. Room 170 Food in restaurant was not what we expected ...very expensive, we wouldnt eat there again. The room was delightful..bed very comfortable

Dear Mrs K,Thank you for the feedback. Blunsdon is an extremely large hotel that is well sign posted and we would not typically show individual guests to their room. We will investigate the issue you raise with the shower. Flame offers a wide variety of options that most guest find to their liking. Unfortunately food prices in the UK as a whole are quite expensive. The only let down was the fact Breakfast was 06:00 - 10:00am but the staff had cleared everything by 09:45. We were late down, (09:30 ish) so when going for second coffee, the counter had been cleared

No cold water, no TV, no heating, thin walls.
Staff service excellent. However, after forking out for a Premium room I was treated to no cold water (with no bottled water provided either) no working TV and no heating. Being able to hear next door in the toilet was an equal treat. What you would expect from a dodgy budget hotel rather than a supposed 4 star charging a big wedge. I will not stay again.

Dear CI,We were sorry for the issues you experienced, but as communicated via our reception team this was as the result of a regional power interruption - that affected both the local TV transmitter and pumping station.These issues have been widely acknowledged in the local media and were beyond our and not specific to the hotel. Free bottled water was available for all of our guests during this period. Despite being October the temperature in the UK is still unseasonably warm with night time temperatures remaining about 15C and it reaching as high as 24C, there is simply no call for the heating yet. We can only apologies for these interruptions but given the exceptional and abnormal circumstances we do hope to see you again in the future.Kind regards, BHH

Blunsdon House Hotel
Lots of friendly and helpful staff in the hotel, restaurants and leisure facilities. The food was great, produced to a high standard. The rooms looked a little tired but that could be down to the "Downton Abbey" look they are trying to achieve. The beds are large and as comfortable as any I have slept in. I stayed for business but would be happy staying here if in the area for pleasure.

Managed to upgrade to a suite which was really useful as separate area for working - TVs tiny and could do with upgrading to larger wall mounted ones. Room was light and quiet. Pool was lovely, jacuzzi lacking bubbles ! Afternoon tea very nice and menu in the restaurant looked appetising but didn’t eat as we had plans. Would recommend staying here I’m sure it’s even nicer in the summer on the balcony. Charging for car great, would prefer to pay for usage rather than everytime you attached as could be costly.

Straightforward friendly check in experience Room was lovely, spacious, well equipped, Not the best view from the room, have previously had a room which overlooks the lovely countryside, this time the view was the car park. Friendly staff in the leisure area, lovely pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi Lovely ambience in Carries Bar for a meal in the evening, well presented food. Plentiful breakfast, great choices, All staff on site are really friendly and helpful if needed. Highly recommend a relaxing stay at this lovely hotel

Lovely, friendly hotel where you can relax with family and friends. Good location for the Shopping Outlet and a day out to Cirencester. Also has a great pool and spa facilities, and plenty of cosy areas to chat and socialise with your friends

Entrance and reception is beautiful. Staff is friendly enough but no hospitality. Incorrect room conditions. Don't book "dinner included", restaurant is closed. Some food at the bar is not alternative you must pay for it separately. Tasteless.

Nice location. Very tired and dated rooms. Terrible food. Ordered chicken burger. Served with a stake bun. Man who brought room service burst into room without asking. They force you to pay on card then and there. Very unprofessional. Charged £7.50 for the pleasure of that tray service.

Great stay
Lovely setting for the hotel - bedrooms a little tired in places but regardless very clean and spacious. The service in all areas - reception / restaurant / bars was exceptional. Will definitely visit again.

Hotel was clean and tidy but the decor was very tired and old fashioned. There was a problem with the toilet flush (it was a push button located in the wall and was very hard to push, you had to push hard several times for it to work which would’ve been very difficult for someone elderly or infirm) which I mentioned on checkout but the member of staff was quite dismissive about. The room was very hot and the floorboards really creaky, the soundproofing was also not great, I could clearly hear next doors phone alarm going at 6am. Stayed two nights and didn’t sleep very well either night. Overall ok but in definite need of tlc

Overall disappointed as main restaurant was shut and so we could only eat in the main bar or go out. Only one bar open as the Zen's bar with open fire and wooden panelling is now only open for private functions, does not state this on website and was one of the main reasons why we came back to hotel.

Family weekend away
Lovely night away with my husband and 1 year old. Hotel is dated in parts but they have put a lot into renovating key areas like the bar, restaurant and leisure facilities, which were great. Very family friendly with an indoor and outdoor play area for the kids. Nice location with views across the countryside.
