Good experience

Posted Sep 11, 2014
Location: Good restaurant across the street. Fun tourist stores nearby, fun to look in.
Clean room everything you needed. Friendly staff. Have not stayed in a motel for many years overall a good experience and would stay again well worth the price.

My wife and I truly enjoyed the hotel ok our pass through trip of the wi dells. Clean room, welcoming staff, would only complain about the lack of hot water while showering. Great family hotel!

Nice clean motel

Posted Sep 6, 2014
Pros: Everything, the room, the outdoor and indoor pool, the grounds were very nice.
We stopped here enroute to the Badlands, it was an excellent choice, old time charm, extremely clean, friendly staff, we couldn't have been happier with our choice. The free coffee offered in the motel office was better than most restaurant coffee I have had.

Clean with great extras

This motel was very clean, the indoor and outdoor pools options were great and we really appreciated the waterpark passes. This motel is close to downtown, but not so close that we were affected by the noise.

Black Hawk Motel - Wisc. Dells

Posted Aug 30, 2014
Pros: Wide parking space and quiet place.
Cons: I don't know. This was top of the line for a 2-star motel.
Location: Location is near the edge of town and four or five blocks from the more active downtown area. You won't walk downtown from here. For some a .
We (myself and two granddaughters) stayed here because of "Trip Advisor" comments left by other travelers who stayed here. It was pretty much as those other travelers stated. A nice, quiet place to stay.

Blackhawk has the feel of old Wisconsin Dells

Posted Aug 30, 2014
Pros: Location, ambience and price.
Cons: The bed covers. . . And outside the motel, the advent of a restaurant just a cut above tourist grade. City folks still like to eat something better.
Location: The staff can steer you or let chance direct your browsing.
The Dells is slowly being encircled by enormous resorts that trap you into THEIR food, THEIR amusements and THEIR molded environments. The central attraction of the lakes and honkytonk fudge shops, water shows and older amusement park rides is being lost. . . . Blackhawk is one of the best deals going if you're not into the "all inclusive" experience that has little or nothing to do with the Dells. There is an indoor and outdoor pool, a game room with old pinball machines and it is pure "motel" down to the neon trim and retro patio chairs outside the rooms. . . . Yet, it's clean, comfortable (with the exception of the heavy synthetic bed covers) and it's easy to walk or drive down the main drag for some of the treasures the Dells has always been known for. . . . With the price of a room, they offer passes to two of the bigger water parks and you can always go for a day pass if you want the extra thrills of the resorts--and you'll still be saving a fair amount of money if you plan to stay a few days and have kids in tow. While it's true that kids are taken in by the Disneyfication of casino-like environments, they also respond to old fashioned adventure and exploring without a concierge or person dressed as an animal from the tropics.

Enjoyable stay

Posted Aug 30, 2014
Pros: That it was in walking distance to downtown
Cons: If possible the parking
Location: Again being able to walk to the shops and restaurants
We just really enjoyed the stay, enough room for the two of us. We used it for sleeping and it satisfied our stay!
