Nez Perce Stay & Play Cabins Unit #1

Welcome to our year-round getaway in the expansive Montana wilderness! We offer semi-rustic, cozy cabins in a natural, peaceful setting. You can look forward to hiking and fishing in the surrounding area during the spring & summer and hunting, skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, and hot springs in the fall & winter.

Cabins are two separate units within a single structure. They are wood stove equipped for heating/cooking. Kitchenettes complete with hot burner, coffee maker, pots/pans. Comfy, quilt laden beds. No running water; room is stocked with jugs of our well water for drinking, dishwashing (basin/sink provided), and handwashing. your heated bathroom is a short 30 yards from your cabin , there is a toilet and hot showers available. towels with complementary soap & shampoo are available in the shower room

ATTN HUNTERS: enjoy some of the best elk hunting the area has to offer; you can hear the elk bugle from your cabin in the fall.

SNOWMOBILE TRAILS!! 18 inches of fresh powder( 2/19/24) for you snowmobilers YIPPIE!!!!
Access point for miles and miles of trails is located adjacent to the property. Bring your x-country skis/snowshoes. I keep miles of trails somewhat groomed for your skiing pleasure. Bring your snow tube or toboggan sled for endless sledding fun on an awesome tubing/sledding hill located on the northeast side of the property, Yippie!!

End your day by relaxing by the fire, snacking on s'mores under the star filled sky, and listening to the forest sounds beyond the gentle water running over the creek's small rapids while you rock your mind to sleep. Wake up to a good cup of coffee and gaze out over the beautiful mountain meadows as the peaceful nature comes alive.

Located:
:12 miles east of Lost Trail Ski Resort along Hwy 43
:13 miles west of the small cowboy town of Wisdom, Mt
: 2 miles west of the Big Hole Battlefield
: across from Foothills Rd. on the northside of Hwy 43

TRAVEL NOTES: We are located off a paved state highway. However, the area is still fairly remote and cell service is spotty. Traveling at night and in inclement weather can create challenges. We recommend planning your travel accordingly. In the event that you need assistance we are here and happy to help.

We are located north side of the road. There will be a 10ft x12ft Nez Perce Trail Stay & Play banner on the big jack fence by the main gate.

IN WINTER/HIGH SNOW:
RIGHT NOW YOU CAN DRIVE (your vehicle )(snowmobile trailers, still park by main road,)DIRECTLY TO YOUR CABIN /TRAIL HAS SOME SNOW PAC ON IT BUT DRIVABLE, ( provided you don' have a small car like a preus etc..)
so disregard note below about walking the trail.
park your vehicle in the parking area off Hwy 43 (northside of Foothills Rd.); . From there you will either walk or ride your snowmobile to your cabin; follow the short hard packed snow trail to the left. We have a snowmobile and a tow behind sled that we use to tote your bags free of charge to and from your vehicle to your lodging. Please request help if needed prior to your arrival. So I know to have someone available . otherwise you are on your own for check-in.

The parking area will accommodate a pick-up snowmobile trailer.

CHECKING IN :: will be on your own, follow the trail to your cabin and your name will be taped to your cabin door. Look for further instructions on your kitchen table in your cabin

I have two big Caucasian Shepherd dogs . They are friendly to people and other dogs however the shepherds are 200+ lbs. dogs and they play rough. If you are bringing a pet, PLEASE let me know so I can kennel mine up during your stay.

Thank you for a great stay! It was nice to have somewhere cozy to stay near by instead of driving back to Butte after skijoring.

Great Experience
This property provided a great experience. The host went above and beyond by providing snowshoes and a sled so that we could play in the snow along with also providing the use of his dogs while we were out hiking. Once again it was a great experience and I would definitely stay here again!!!
