Excellent stay even though it rained 2 full days while I was there. The room and grounds are gorgeous. The bathtub and outside shower are amazing. Note there’s no wifi in the villas but you can download in the main dining area. The meals were scrumptious. You will not leave hungry. The fresh juices were delicious and the tuna poke bowl was a favorite. The dining staff is very attentive and would bring me seconds of what I liked before even thinking to ask. They even packed me a breakfast as I had an early flight. The beach is beautiful though it is a little rocky when you first enter the water and then it’s fine. I snorkeled which was great. I had a good massage though I felt like the staff needed a bit more training but my expectations may have been high due to reception and the dining staff’s treatment. Highly recommend if you want to get it away from all. Truly a beautiful place.

The feeling here, from the moment you arrive, is one of bliss. The limited number of rooms makes it feel like you are in your own private villa with some visitors occasionally dropping by. The grounds are impeccably maintained, the staff all smiles and always happy to help, and the food, better than we would have expected. In some cases much better. The only issue here, and it's only an issue for some, is the on-again off-again wi-fi availability. But if that;s your biggest concern, this isn't the resort for you. That aside, the Aiyana is an outstanding property in every way. . . .

Our experience at The Ayana was impeccable. The beach is amazing and the villas have a wonderful view. Staff are great and super kind. The team accommodated our last minute reservation and plans swiftly. Cuisine is very good and veggetarian friendly. We will definitely come back!!

Le sejour était incroyable ! Malheureusement au moment de payer j'ai du passer ma carte 2 fois car elle n'a soit disant pas fonctionné. J'ai donc été débité 2 fois. Cela fait maintenant 2 mois que j'attends un remboursement !!! Quel dommage de devoir écrire ce commentaire alors que le séjour était incroyable...

The property was in disrepair and the staff seemed untrained. There was no WiFi in the rooms (which was not mentioned when we booked the stay) and VERY limited hot water (and sometimes the water did not work at all. There is honestly nothing I liked/can recommend about this place.

It appears that the weather during your stay did not help at all our logistic. Heavy rain in place like Pemba deeply impact the WiFi connection and also the electricity. Hot water can be a challenge , we should have briefed you better concerning hot water and electricity difficulties that comes with bad weather. We would have loved to make your stay better . We are for now in a transition period with our staff,and we are sorry that you felt/saw it. We are improving and will come back to the amazing service we deliver to our guests. Pour les fonds sous marins, nous avons normalement des endroits simplement extraordinaitre ici, avec des millions de poissons tro[picaux... mais il est vrai que la faune evolue avec les courants, temperatures, marees etc... This property has everything. There’s a whole welcoming committee that greets you with lemongrass juice and the owner gave us an thorough tour of the property. I can’t say enough about how gorgeous our villa was. Once you are there you never want to leave. The customer service was the best I’ve seen while traveling. The food is exceptional. The high end accommodations make you feel comfortable. They have set a benchmark for an exquisite experience.

Paradise on earth!
Après quelques jours de safari, nous voulions profiter du calme et de la beauté de l'Ocean indien dans un bel hotel pour notre lune de miel. Nous n'avons pas été déçus : le service est extraordinaire, le cadre splendide, le management propose chaque soir un thème différent au diner, dans l'assiette ou dans le cadre proposé, pour surprendre et séduire ses invités, la nourriture est excellente. Les chambres sont spacieuses, tout est très propre, et chaque détail est réfléchi... un vrai bonheur ! Merci à Philippe et tout son staff pour ce formidable séjour !

Formidable, incroyable, génial ! Je ne sais pas quel adjectif utilisé pour décrire notre expérience mais du début à la fin, tout était parfait ! Un cadre splendide, un jardin au milieu du paradis. Un personnel aux petits soins. Pleins de « petites » (ou plutôt grandes) attentions tout au monde de notre séjour. C’était notre lune de miel et Philippe, le manager, a su faire en sorte, avec toute l’équipe, que notre voyage soit inoubliable ! Un grand merci !

Beautiful,uniquely designed luxury boutique resort
The Aiyana is a beautifully designed modern resort located about two hours’ drive north from the Pemba Island Airport. It offers excellent, comfortable accommodations, very good food, very friendly staff, and great quality bedding in the spacious suites, each with a large comfortable sofa in the living room. It’s a great place for divers, as Afro Divers will pick you up with their boat or car, depending on the dive site for the day. Highly recommended!

Hidden gem
This hotel is an oasis of relaxation for those looking for an escape from the buzzing heart of the city and that in the truest sense possible, as there is no service on the island except from the local providers and the wi-fi is restricted to the common areas. The location is spectacular, the spacious and very clean villas overlooking the azure waters. The food is excellent, especially the diverse menu for lunch and thematic dinners. We had a very nice surprise organized by the Aiyana team: secluded dinner on the beach! It was an indelible experience! However, I feel like the breakfast options could be more diversified as well as the service. The coffee comes very slow, at the end of the breakfast and personally I prefer it served first. The wine list could also be more diversified. Overall, the service and staff were very friendly and catering to our every demand. There are also plenty of activities to do, mostly aquatic as the marine wildlife is absolutely incredible; there is no time to get bored. I recommend a new set of bicycles as the existing ones are really old for those wanting to explore the village. I highly recommend this hotel, as the French say « c’est un coin de paradis sur cette île ».

Aiyana was a beautiful experience! The manager Filipe received me upon arrival and gave me a tour of the property. I stayed in a private villa with a pool, the villa has been designed to perfection. With every detail of the room well thought out. The outdoor shower, star gazing beds upstairs, beautiful bath tub, extremely comfortable bed, you name it, they had it covered.The team went the extra mile to make every day special. I will be back!

Quand l’authentique rencontre le luxe ! Endroit et hôtel exceptionnels à vivre une fois (au moins ! ) dans sa vie ! L’accueil et la nourriture sont tout autant à la hauteur ! Quel service , quel gentillesse naturelle !Du directeur CSU service en chambre : tout est mis en place pour répondre à vos attentes ! Cela devient rarissime à trouver ! Espérons que le tourisme sera régulé car vraiment c’est le paradis préservé ! Allez y sans tarder , nous y avons passé la semaine la plus inoubliable , vraiment ! L’hôtel est en plus est d’un design aussi recherché que fabuleux : tous les détails sont pensés et étonnants !

Perfect Honeymoon Destination
Incredibly designed, beautiful property on what feels like a secluded island. We had an absolutely lovely stay. Ownership has transitioned (was formerly run in partnership with Constance Hotels) and it seems that service has slipped a bit as a result. The staff is incredibly kind and eager to please, but you can tell that some lack the formal training and attention to detail that comes with operating under a larger, more established operation.

This property is stunning. The villas are beautiful and have views over the beach and the sea. Our villa had a private pool, which was inviting and refreshing. The hotel pool is also lovely. The landscaping is beautiful, with bougainvillea draped over the white stone buildings. It is a lovely property and the people are amazing and the food is great.

Un hotel, un lieu hors du temps. Si le paradis existe, il est à l'Aiyana. Au bout d'une piste de plusieurs kilometres, bienvenue ds un endroit magique. La manager et son équipe aux petits soins et sensibles au moindre détail feront tout pour que vous passiez un séjour inoubliable dans un cadre idyllique. L'hotel est sublime avec des chambres spacieuses, décorées avec gout et tout le confort dont vous aurez besoin. Vous pourrez profiter de la piscine à débordement devant un superbe lagon ou bien déguster un excellent poisson au restaurant. Enfin, l'hôtel organise des excursions ou des private dinner qui vous laisseront des souvenirs à jamais.

L’arrivee à l’hotel Est déjà un enchantement.l’attention portée à notre venue est remarquable .Arrivee a l’hotel par le staff et la directrice également .Ne parlant pas bien l’anglais une personne traduit ce qui est notifié . La chambre est immense .celle ci mériterait la clim dans la Salle de bains splendide et une Machine à café. Pour les repas la cuisine est excellente il n’y a pas d’autres mot. On se sent super bien dans cet hôtel qui n’en n’est pas un .Le cadre exceptionnel ,la gentillesse de Dario et de toute l’equipe ..les soins au SPA..que du Bonheur . On a passé un. This property is pure magic. While it is on the opposite end of the island from the airport, the hour-long drive gives you an amazing feel and perspective on just how unspoiled the island really is. From the moment you arrive - full staff on hand with cool towels, tea and snacks to every single day part ... they are there to help your stay be the very best it can be. The property and rooms are stunning ... massive and every single detail has been thought of wherever you go. The sand is so soft, you sink down a fair few inches as you walk along it. All meals are super delicious with high standards in detail, cuisine and big flavour. Ekaterina is amazing and hooked me up with Luca and Mike from Swahili Divers. Did two dives - Coral Gardens is just that ... beats any of the diving I've done in the Caribbean. They also suggested I take a bike ride over to Vumawimbi Beach - again, stunning, stunning, stunning. It was just me and felt super safe and worth the time for sure. The last night is super special - I won't give it away but I was so thrilled with the whole night. I cannot say enough about The Aiyana; it's a must do if you are contemplating island time after a safari or quite frankly, an alternative to the Maldives with more culture given the local villages.

Perfect place for an amazing holiday!!
We just spent 5 Days of our Honeymoon at the Aiyana. After spending time in Zanzibar we did not know what we were expected in Pemba. The hotel is amazing, great rooms with huge bathrooms. All very clean, very stylish - I loved all the details. The owner was there as well and you see and feel all the love, passion and details of him in this amazing place. The food is beyond! Very healthy, fresh and just perfectly delicious. The staff is just too sweet! It is very private and not overloaded with people like in Zanzibar. It all was just amazing. Event the massage at the Spa was great. We are really very happy that we have booked this hotel.
