This property borders Gooseberry State Park, the most popular state park in Minnesota, with access to the Nordic skiing and mountain biking trail system right out the back door. Guest can also jump onto the Gitchi Gami State trail for those who want to bike or rollerblade on a smooth paved trail with access just across the road.

With the close proximity to Gooseberry Falls and Splitrock Lighthouse, as well as Two Harbors, Duluth, and Lutsen, there are year-round opportunities to venture out to go hiking, biking, skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, sightseeing, swimming, and much more!

Great for groups both large and small, there are 4 - two-bedroom, one bath apartment style suites on the property that can be reserved individually or together. Great place on the North Shore
We had a fabulous stay at Gooseberry Trailside Suites! Lodgings were clean, beautifully done, with details most places don't do. One detail is liquid hand soap. Bar soap is a germ spreader and gross! There was a nightlight in the bathroom. Multiple quilts/blankets to choose from and any kitchen utensils you'd need. The location is great too. We hiked out the back door to Gooseberry Falls, and explored all up and down the North Shore. Our teenagers appreciated the wifi. I would absolutely stay here again, and would be a great place to rent all 4 units for a family get together.

Very clean location with everything you need. Note: you will hear all footsteps upstairs if you’re in a bottom unit. I’m not sure that you can reserve a top unit specifically unfortunately.

Trails at your door!
Located on the boundary of Gooseberry Falls State Park. Trails for hiking and Nordic skiing in Gooseberry Falls are accessible for the condo. The longest paved section of the Northshore state trail is just across Hwy 61. This is a great trail for bicycling and hiking. Split Rock Lighthouse State Park is just 6 miles north on Hwy 61. Great Location! The condo was clean and well maintained. The host was proactive with possible concerns. We had a great stay and highly recommend Trailside condo.

Nice weekend stay on the North Shore
We had a great time staying in the Knife River Suite. The private patio with a grill and table were a nice touch, and we liked the shared firepit area. We didn't get to use the sauna because it was just too hot out, but it looked cute! The unit doesn't have air conditioning, but we cooled off with a dip in Lake Superior at nearby Iona Beach.

We loved our stay! We were thinking it would be nice if the sign for the suites was easier to see. Maybe moved closer to the street. We all missed the turn every time. Also maybe a water softener if you already don’t have one? Other then that it was great and we would definitely come back. Perfect for dogs as well with the trails and location. Thanks again!

Great property and location - had everything we needed and everything was as described. The trails just outside the location were great! There was quite a bit of noise from the upper level, so if you want it more quiet, suggest booking the upper level condos.

Great Location
The location was great and provided a good central location to base for our trip. Easy to get to off of the main highway. I agree with previous review on a couple of things. Sitting area is limited but we made it work for the 4 of us. We stayed for 4 days so if you are going for over a couple you may want to bring extra towels/washcloths. And yes you can hear voices and all the walking from the upstairs unit.

Great Spot Near State Parks!
Loved that this was located near several state parks, including Gooseberry Falls State Park (literally within walking distance to trails), Split Rock Lighthouse State Park and Tettegouche State Park. We were in one of the lower units of the four-plex and it was comfortable for our group of 5 (two adults, a 14 yo, 10 yo, and 6 yo). Though the shower is small, the shower head was powerful and we had plenty of hot water. Overall, a great stay for our first time in Minnesota!

North Shore Getaway
The place was very nice. Clean. and Easy to get in and out, and in a very convenient location. It was hot when we visited so it would have been nice to have A/C in the unit. This is a four-plex and the unit above us was rented also - little noisy from foot traffic above but nothing we couldn't live with. Over all we were very happy with everything and would stay again.

July 4th up north
Went to visit the north shore with family and ended up finding this hidden gem. The property is just north of Gooseberry falls and about a 15-20 minute drive north of Two Harbors. The property is actually four separate units. Each unit has it's own grill and somewhat private outdoor dining space. That said, you will likely encounter other guests that are staying at the property (fire pit and sauna are all shared). No central heat or AC. A little small for 6 adults with only one bathroom and minimal kitchen, but it's affordable, well maintained, and unbeatable location.

Very comfortable stay in lower condo for 2 nights. 3d night having neighbors above us were noisy. Not much sound proofing between the floors. Kitchen was well stocked. Enjoyed the deck, grill and sauna. The beds were really comfortable. Perfect set up for our elderly dogs. Great location close to Gooseberry and Split Rock Lighthouse parks.
