Rustic impressive elegant furniture, rugs. Huge stone tub. Tall 2step king bed was impressive. Was a beautiful room but was a little hard for us to navigate. Would be great for younger, fit couples. Bed was hard to get onto - not so bad getting down. Shower/tub was a bit scary when you’re not as steady as you used to be! Breakfast basket was cute idea. Not what we liked but that’s ok. The chocolate bar in the room basket was old and discolored. No creamer for the coffee. Just sugar. No price list for chocolate bar or chips orwine. Were they included. You didn’t know. I would rate it better than good but not quite excellent.

Best location in Fredericksburg. Lovely room with two person jacuzzi. Not much sound proofing, so neighbors were loud. Pretty normal for older buildings. Breakfast was lack luster and I miss eating with other people as a bed and breakfast experience since it was delivered to your room. But, the staff was very friendly and the ease of checkin and checkout was great.

Comfy and clean
Very happy with our stay. Bed was comfy. Loved the jetted tub and soft, fluffy towels. My husband and I slept upstairs and my son had the pullout downstairs. Only negative is having to go downstairs in the middle of the night to use the bathroom.

We had a great time. The bed was so comfortable and the place was peaceful. We drove into town the walk was too much for us it had a steep incline to walk into town.

Luxury motel in a great location, close to bars, restaurants and shopping. Really friendly staff. Rooms have stairs to get to the actual bedroom, which is cosy, comfortable with plenty of amenities. Definitely recommend.

I book for 4 people, I was thinking my 17 year old twins will have a bed, instead they have a sofa that it was super uncomfortable, the master bedroom was upstairs and the bed to high and the selling to low, when I when to the bathroom at night I almost fell. To take a shower I had to jump in and ti get out I hurt myself, super inconvenient. The place is nice and well located that is it. No water pressure on the sink.

Rustic Romantic Suites just off Main St.
The Winchester Lodge is a perfect hotel stay for couples looking to spend time together in a beautiful setting. The jacuzzi tub is a nice addition but pretty hard to get in and out of if you're not limber. Suite 16 is two floors and it's really nice to have a cute little balcony to sit out on. They include wine, beer and snacks for purchase in the suite as well with. The pool area has a very nice wood fireplace that was excellent touch. We really enjoyed our stay there.

It was clean and well maintained. The office was to be open until 6pm however it wasn’t. We arrived around 5 and the keys were left in a box. A map of the town in the room would have been nice. You access the property from the back side which is dim and poorly lit.

Very charming, including the delivered breakfasts. Would stay here again. We stayed on suite 8. It was a bit cramped. Learned while checking out suites 8 and 12 are the smallest by s.f. The other suites are supposed to be roomier.

We really enjoyed the property. Opening your door to breakfast at your leisure was a wonderful way to start the day. There are a number of tables to sit out at and enjoy your coffee and breakfast. Those same tables and chairs turned into a nice spot for a quiet happy hour or night cap. Downside: not sure how often this occurs but we had a couple staying at the same time that treated the pool like an x-rated show from 5pm until at least 9pm when we packed it in. Clearly they did not adhere to the no smoking as cigarettes and pot were sparked up frequently. Unfortunately we did not feel this warranted an ‘emergency’ call and there is no onsite security. Should this ever happen again, for $300 per night, you can bet it will be an emergency. Side note the property offered nothing but ‘sorry that happened to you’

I will be reaching out to you personally in regards to your stay. Please know that at any point in time while you stay at our properties and you feel uncomfortable we welcome you to call our emergency number. I would have been up there quickly to put a stop to such behavoir, it is not acceptable ever. Guests like that are not welcomed on our properties and they will be banned for future stays. This is a first for us as far as i know. Thank you again for bringing this to our attention. It will be delt with.

If you are looking for a unique stay in the Texas Hill Country the Winchester Lodge is an unexpected Gem of a place. Completely satisfied with the experience and hospitality. Will be a return guest as often as possible.
