The hotel was beautiful and the staff friendly, however the pool closed for the season the day before we arrived without notification. This was one of the reasons for us choosing the hotel so it was a big disappointment.

About my 7th stay here. Very nice Parador. I have only ever tried the bar food, as I find dinner starts a little late (20:30) after a day's driving, but the club sandwhich is just fine, coupled with a glass or 2 of Rioja. Rooms are very comfortable and generously proportioned. Do make the effort to get a view overlooking the dam if you are spending any time on your room´s balcony. I find the prices good value for money and the staff are always friendly.

Great hotel, disappointing staff!
Wonderful situation, great views and great walks. Very nice Parador and the Reception staff were very good indeed. Less so the dining room staff. At breakfast and dinner they were not at all attentive to guests' needs. If you wanted something then you had to get up and walk to a member of staff to get their attention. At dinner, meals were often delivered to the wrong table. At breakfast, no member of staff came to your table to offer you tea or coffee or a cooked beakfast. They need a lesson in customer service!

What a beautiful place. If you’re coming from Barcelona this is worth the 25 minute drive to feel like you’re in the middle of the country. The setting is wonderful and the rooms with a view are worth the drive.

Excellent hotel in a fantastic location
The reception function was excellent. The restaurant meals were only ok - the menu needs variation - and the breakfast buffet was not of four-star quality. It was, however, a beautiful place to spend a few quiet days.

Beautiful location but remote
Had Superior Room overlooking Pool and Lake. with view to die for. Room good size plus large balcony with table and chairs if you want to sit outside, relax and enjoy the view. Bed mattress not the most comfortable but perfectly OK. and rest of room facilities very good and clean. Very good buffet breakfast plus able to order freshly made scrambled eggs at no extra cost which was a bonus. Ate in restaurant for one evening meal but thought this was overpriced and only average. Swimming pool and surrounding area very clean and free towels given out by attendant. The hotel location is quite remote, which has its benefits in some respects, but does mean using car to get to any where else in the evening to eat.

Beautiful hotel in a fantastic location
We had a lovely comfortable room upgraded to one with a private balcony and gorgeous view when we booked in a bit early. Lovely to relax in and beside the good sized pool and appreciated separate swimming towels each time. Food was good but service pretty slow, even in our relaxed holiday mood - that is the reason for the 4 for hotel staff because otherwise they were charming and helpful. The other reason for the 4 overall was breakfast - it was tasty and varied but at 16€ we thought it was a bit steep and there was no possibility of something simpler, cheaper and quicker the second morning when we wanted to get away a bit earlier. Overall though a little bit of luxury at a reasonable price in a stunning location.
Stunning location!

Disappointing hotel
This is a parador in an old mansion on a lake which is very remote from town. Unfortunately, the sheets smelled smoky in our nonsmoking room, and the nonsmoking rooms have a view of a wall. Dinner was quite disappointing. The rabbit, sausage, and rice dish was filled with small shards of bone. The veal dish was good. We would not stay there again.

Beautiful place, good sightseeing, good walks
We have stayed at least 20 times at the Parador of Vic, sometimes when passing through Catalonia on our way north, other times using it as a base for exploring the region and visiting the great Romanesque churches and monasteries. This time we stayed three nights, and every day we drove way up into the high Pyrenees to see different areas. Some of the places we visited were Ripoll, S. Joan de las Abadesas, Beget, Rocabruna, Queralbs and the Val de Nuria, Dorria, and most special of all, S.Jaume de Frontanya. Every evening when we got back to the parador we took a long walk, enjoying the dramatic beauty of the landscape, and had a drink before dinner on the terrace overlooking the lake and its spectacular setting. It was altogether a glorious time.

Excellent parador....beautiful surroundings
The staff was very kind and accommodating....the room view was breathtaking. Yes, the décor is a tad outdated but who cares when one is surrounded by so much beauty. The breakfast buffet is substantial; room service is reasonable. The terrace attached to our room only needed a chaise lounge chair or two and we probably never would have left. The fact that the room thermostat can not be adjusted room by room is the only uncomfortable part of the room accommodation. Our room was very warm in the evening....and opening the terrace doors would have let the nighttime bugs inside. The staff was very apologetic and explained the room temperatures were not adjustable. I did notice that the next day the room was more temperature comfortable so I think the issue may have been addressed. I would stay at Parador Vic again in a heartbeat.and truly thank the staff for making our stay such a fantastic one.

A night in the Parador you have to go looking for
Arriving up a long winding road in torrential rain (in Spain in August!), we found ourselves in a large comfortable room with a magnificent view, one of the very best we have ever had. We had a successful dinner with, in particular, a wine list which was short and good value. The next morning, the sky had cleared to show the view of the night before, but now with the ever-changing light of the rising sun: unforgettable. Breakfast was excellent and the staff efficient and pleasant at all stages.
