was here for 6 total nights in a double room. very much enjoyed my stay and am very grateful. friendly, helpful, and informative staff; a sense of community but also respectfulness for space (which can be dependent on the guests present, which regularly changes, but the space/set-up somehow seems conducive to that); good access to restaurants, a big supermarket, coffee shops, beaches within walking distance; airport, Old San Juan, La Placita etc. within quick Uber distances. considerations: - if you are light sleeper, earplugs are recommended as the street (Calle Loiza) can be a busy one (very busy during day, intermittently so at night). - the kitchen is adequate but not cut out for a culinary extravaganza with a small fridge, a portable, electric 2-burner stove, and a big microwave but last appliance was ample for my needs. - even if you are arriving after-hours as i did, the property will contact you with door codes and room information prior to your arrival. felt quite safe in the area late night, and the keypad is a little high, to your left facing the gate. if arriving really late, quiet hours are 11pm~7am (at my time of stay). - useful lockers in room--used a small padlock for keeping valuables in there. - the room was very well air-conditioned, note for those who like that. ours was off for parts of day as it was too cold for us ;D hope to be back again in the near future. thanks again <3

Winded up booking here because issues with another hostel in the area. I absolutely loved it there and was grateful I made the move. The staff was friendly and gave us advice for place to travel too and the overall vibes of this hostel were great.

No onsite management, but property is kept very clean and tidy! Room was nice and clean along with common areas. Occasional “hostel” vibes on the room, but mostly pretty quiet place. Great location.

This is a hostel, not hotel, so expect a slightly different experience. Location is excellent, deck & kitchen are very nice. Rooms are bare bones but comfortable. A great way to enjoy San Juan if your budget is tight.

The service and location are great. We had the supreme queen, and it was in need of some serious improvements. The sink had no drain (not a problem), but because of that, you could see all the hair and black mold that was growing. The water temperature in the shower was warm, but not hot. The couch had stains all over it, and the air was musty. The worst part though, was that we were near the lobby, and they do NOT turn the phone off or silent it. Meaning, that when someone calls at 9:30 pm, or 4:15 am (like they did when we were there), the phone just continually rings until it goes to voicemail or something. So if you stay here- at least don’t get a room on the lobby level.

When I checked in the room looked different from the website. Then I was informed that the bathroom was outside of the unit, up the stairs and inside of the shared community kitchen. That was not listed in the rental description and was totally unacceptable. Fortunately I was able to switch units and get one with an in-unit bathroom, for a fee of course. The rooms were very no frills and basic and there was no hot water my first day there. The AC and WiFi worked and the front entrance and room doors use an electronic keypad for entry. The staff was friendly and the property is situated on a busy street with lots of traffic, vehicle and pedestrian. There's a small "library" across the street with free books. Shops, restaurants and a beautiful beach are within walking distance.
