Santa Fe Casita
The Casita Dulce is a secluded, clean, quiet, bird filled property. We came somewhat tense and left relaxed and eager to get back to the grind. The Casita has a great bed and was well equipped for our 7 day stay.

A great place, but keep some things in mind.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Casita Dulce! We would stay again. There are a few things to be aware of that did not have a major impact on our stay, but might on someone else's. First, the Jacuzzi bathtub evidently does not get serviced. When we first tried to use it, a lot of black flakes came out of the jets. Also, not all of the jets were functioning. Second, there appears to be something a little funky about the electrical wiring. My computer kept telling me that the power source was not correct. I was still able to keep my computer charged, but it was a bit weird. Lastly, it appears that the internet is rather slow. Again, this was not a big problem for us, but it could be for someone who needs a fairly high speed for any work being done. Again, none of these issues created a big headache for us, but I could see how it might for someone else.

Hi Wes, I am pleased that you enjoyed your stay and we'll enjoy welcoming you back. I just want to clarify a few points that you mentioned in your review. The internet speed is the fastest that can be obtained in Santa Fe. The service provider is Xfinity and the speed is above 100 mbps. No one in all of the 92 reviews for Casita Dulce has ever mentioned a problem with internet speed. The internet service is dedicated to the casita and not shared by another facility. Also, I have no idea what you mean by a power source problem, all I can think of is perhaps your power cord may be somewhat faulty. I do know that the home does not have a wiring problem. You're right, it is weird but perhaps you should have let us know and we could have checked it out for you. Regarding the Jacuzzi tub, yes the jets will over time emit cloudy water if not used for a period of time. This is true with all jetted tubs if they are unused for a lengthy period of time. Given that we never know when they are used, we rely on the guests to fill the tub (necessary to use the jets) and, if the water is fouled, empty the tub and then refill it to use it. Due to the scarcity of water in Santa Fe, we do not do this after each guest as we do not know if the tub was used or not and don't want to waste water. BTW: the jets are adjustable from inside the tub - they can be turned on or off, perhaps a past guest turned a few off. As you know, the tub can really kick :-) Thanks again for your stay and all the best, Richard

Annularity!!
We came for the Annular Eclipse in October 2023 and had great time with the host and neighbors during the eclipse. There are lots of eating (and drinking) options within walking distance and house is tucked away and pretty quiet. Check in was easy and overall had a good time visiting Santa Fe.

Loved my stay here
Casita Dulce is located close to the Plaza, Railyard, shopping, museums and more. It is located in a quiet neighborhood and Leslie is very nice and helpful.

Absolutely heavenly
The Casita Dulce was everything and more for our visit in Santa Fe. My daughter and I truly felt at home the entire time that we were there. It was wonderful having a private backyard to relax in, a wonderfully stocked kitchen to cook in, a sublimely comfortable bed to sleep in and - bonus - dog friendly! Leslie, the owner, was so delightful to chat with while we were there - but not at all intrusive. Thank you Leslie for providing such a homey home away from home and your gracious hospitality!

Awesome Casita!
We really enjoyed our stay at this quaint casita, the location was great, close to downtown Santa Fe. The house was very clean, comfortable not to mention we had a fenced back yard to enjoy as well. The perfect spot in Santa Fe
This casita was exactly as described. It is off a quiet neighborhood street, which has limited access therefore, it is quiet. The casita is within the compound, so we felt very safe. We even had our private courtyard and lounge chairs, and we retired to it almost every day. The propriators Leslie and Richard, were always helpful with our stay and suggestions of local sites. They responded quickly to text messages. With coded entry, getting access was easy, and if you are out after dark, motion lights guide you home. The unit was perfect for a couple, king bed, spacious kitchen, comfortable living area with sofa, coffee table, and chairs. HD television allowed access to a number of different streaming sites. Plenty of hot water, large refrigerator with huge freezer, large microwave, gas stove, air conditioning, and to top it off, free laundry in an adjacent building. One of the reasons that we chose it was the close access to the rail trail which made for an easy walk to the rail yard, REI, and countless restaurants, and a short walk further to the Plaza. We enjoyed our visit to Santa Fe, and made several trips to neighboring sites like Audubon, Ghost Ranch and Las Vegas. A caution to those who decide not to rent a car at the airport. You will save some money, but some of the cars in town might be old, beat up and the money you save may not be the treat you think it is. Thank you Richard and Leslie, we had a memorable stay.

When we walked through the heavy wood gate the beautiful garden area and our own private outdoor space was great. The facilities, living area were perfect for us and the bbed so comfortable.

Great location
The casita was exactly as described in the listing and very clean upon arrival. Location was great for the Railway area, a little further to the Plaza then we wanted to walk to and carry any purchases back but that was our choice, as it is walkable. Grocery stores super close and easy access to the road leading to Taos and other locations to the North. Leslie was great at check in and available if we had questions or needed anything. Having onsite laundry and BBQ grill are added bonuses. We hope to visit again.

Honeymoon week: Everything we dreamed!
This gem of a Vrbo rental is the real deal, and the owners were a dream to deal with. A gorgeous, adobe casita tucked in a historic Santa Fe neighborhood was magical for our week there. Eclectically furnished and appointed with lovely art -- original, vintage and whimsical -- inside and out, the cottage was truly a step outside the world. Although the Wifi and streaming-capable TV let us put our toes back into the world when we wanted. The private courtyard was unbelievable, and spending one of our nights using the gas grill there for a special dinner was such a treat. Every amenity provided that you could want -- even laundry facilities (which, had we known that one, would have resulted in packing a bit less)! Proximity to downtown, the Plaza, museums, art and restaurants was superb. Thank you for our absolute perfect honeymoon!

Good place to stay
The is very well laid out. The hosts have everything needed. The kitchen is well equipped with all tools needed and in good working order. Bed is very comfortable. Location is central to most things you want to see or do. It is close to transportation routes but the neighborhood is quiet. We’d stay here again.

Great place for a couple
Casita Dulce is quiet, private, and very clean. The kitchen is well stocked with equipment, tableware, and utensils. The house is in a courtyard behind the host's home. We didn’t have any issues, but it was nice knowing she was right there if needed. Communication was excellent. We would stay again without hesitation!

Very pleasant stay
My wife and I recently shared 6 pleasant days at Casita Dulce. The apartment was spotlessly clean and comfortable which was important to us since I was having painful back issues. We utilized the well stocked kitchen and enjoyed the ease of eating in. The TV was upscale and with a multitude of channels. WiFi worked perfectly and was very fast. We enjoyed the garden setting and were very impressed with the location and access to so many of the Santa Fe attractions.. In addition to the very nice apartment we were so pleased to have Leslie nearby to handle any issues or questions. She was very efficient, friendly and obviously takes pride in her lovely apartment. We highly enjoyed our stay here and recommend to other travelers considering this property. Kent DDS

An Oasis in Santa Fe
This is a LOVELY casita, tucked away on a side street in a very quiet, established neighborhood near where Paso Peralta meets St. Francis. The location is ideal, being so close to Trader Joe’s, Whole Foods and (yes) even a McDonald’s. So easy for driving North (Taos, Chimayo, etc.) or South to Albuquerque. The Railyard area with its art galleries, restaurants, and Sat/Sun markets is only a 10-15min easy walk, as is SITE Santa Fe. (Note: Market day parking can be difficult – walk it!) But the walk to the Plaza is longer, about 30-35min. We opted to drive and park over by the East side of town. So much for location. The casita itself is charming – a perfect spot for a couple. It is clean, functional, and has all the amenities one would need, and then some, to make for a memorable visit. And the bed was sooo comfortable! There is a charming backyard garden in which to relax with a glass of wine after a day of touristing. I should add that it is very helpful that the owners live in a separate dwelling on the premises. If you have questions or a problem they are right there. We had a problem with our rental car tires and Leslie told us exactly where to go for resolution. My wife and I have been to Santa Fe MANY times over the past 20+ years, staying in a variety of places. Casita Dulce can’t be beat; we hope to stay there again. Why stay at a B&B or hotel, when for about the same price you can have so much more -- with no strangers in the adjacent rooms or noise up-and-down the halls?

Garden Oasis
Leslie's garden was peaceful and lovely. The area is close to everything and the neighborhood is quiet. We and our shih tzu Sinjin had a wonderful stay. Hope to come back next year!

Beautiful place, good location
This charming one-bedroom place is almost perfect. It’s located in a quiet neighborhood 0.5 miles from the Railyard district and a little over a mile to the downtown plaza. The bed is comfortable and the place was very clean. The landscaping is lovely - dozens of beautiful potted plants in front (backyard of the main house), and there is a private backyard for the casita. The owner was easily available by text and in person, and very helpful. This is one of the nicest places I have stayed in - highly recommended.

Comfortable & convenent.
Since our original choice was cancelled on us due to a massive water leak under their floor, this accommodation was last minute based on availability. Although comfortable, the ambiance was hardly SW adobe or Santa Fe typical. Road noise was significant during the night. Bathroom fairly small w/ very little counter space for 2 people. Beautiful side garden and good, functional bbq.

Hi Michael, Although we do appreciate your stay, we are unimpressed with your review. If only you had viewed the photos of the casita, you would have noticed that the decor is not southwestern. I am surprised you heard traffic noice?? I have never noticed noise, nor have any other guests, and we live in the home in front of the casita. Oh well, thanks again and all the best, Richard

Great NM hideaway
This property is clean, comfortable and beautiful. There are several courtyards to enjoy. This house is in a quiet spot but very near everything you want to do in Santa Fe. I would hands down stay here agaon if in the area and highly recommend it.

Fantastic home base in Santa Fe
This was perfect for our week's stay. There are comfortable places to set up an "office" to get some work done. Everything is of good quality. Loved the location -- we would walk to Sky Coffee or the market in the Railyard almost every morning. Would definitely return.

Southwestern Ambiance
The property was roomy and comfortable. It had all the conveniences necessary for an extended stay. It was in a quiet neighborhood and within walking distance of the Plaza - a fairly long walk for someone of my age. It was convenient to grocery stores. The pond with a foundation contributed to the ambiance, as did all the birds.

A very cute and comfortable casita with a wonderful yard …great if traveling with a dog . Not really great for walking to plaza , only on street parking at casita . I had minimal interaction with host but was available for questions . Great restaurant down the street called Tune Up… . Mexican / San Salvadoran.

Great location!!
This is a private casita, both from street and owner, who lives in main house. Paseo de Peralto is literally around the corner so easy to get to the Plaza area as well as grocery stores. The bathroom and kitchen are very new and modern. There’s even an electric hot water kettle. It’s decorated in grandma’s very serviceable old furniture and decor. Bed was a bit soft for us but I realize this is completely subjective. I would recommend a non-slip pad under bedroom rug.

Spacious unit located walking distance from Railyard venues
The unit includes a full, up-to-date kitchen with plenty of dishes, stainlessware, glasses and mugs; comfortable king-size bed in a reasonably large bedroom; and a small-ish bathroom with a full tub shower. The unit was clean. The furnishings are dated but functional. The temperature controls for the ductless heating/cooling units didn't seem to work properly, so -- as the weather was cool -- we were cold much of the time. The hosts were very nice.

Hi Scott, We really enjoyed hosting you and would enjoy welcoming you back! The heating is controlled by mini-splits that also serve for cooling. They must both be set to the same mode for them to work properly. I checked them this morning and everything seemed to be working well. I'm sorry. Actually we chose the furniture to be of a period and style that represents quality above the 'manufactured' furniture one finds typically today. Best2U, Richard

Another Great Stay in Santa Fe
We reserved Casita Dulce for two weeks and were lucky enough to be able to extend our stay for another six days. The casita is comfortable and well stocked. We were there in February and enjoyed sitting in the garden a couple of times. I imagine it is lovely in better weather. This is the first property we've rented where the host lives on site. Leslie is so nice and was always helpful whenever we had a question. We recommend the casita and would stay there again.

Wonderful Casita
We were here for 9 days/nights and loved every minute of it. This reasonaable priced place is near everything yet very quiet with its own private backyard with gas barbeque, table, chairs, and chaise lounges. The casita, which is separate but behind a house, has everything one needs for a comfortable stay, including a washer dryer. The furniture and art are eclectic and interesting. The bed is so comfortable we always slept late. The owners/managers are friendly and helpful. What more could one want for a great Santa Fe vacation. We will be back!

We really enjoyed our stay at Casita Dulce. If you are looking for a place to stay in Santa Fe, this is it. It is a great place to come home and relax after a day of exploring. It is very clean, comfortable and has everything needed to make you feel at home. Loved the jetted tub and lavender. House is artistically done. The private garden is a great place to unwind in the evening, see if you can find the golf ball. Leslie is great to work with and we will definitely stay here again when in Santa Fe. Very quiet and still near Santa Fe center. Comfortable, quite clean, nice host. I was concerned about on-street parking but neighborhood looks good and it was no trouble. The deep Jacuzzie tub will be a concern for people with limited mobility. Some grab bars would be a real help. I would return.
