The room was spacious and clean, but 'tired', the wasbasin was chipped and the sofa was torn. The main issue was with the dining experience, the 'restarant' reminded us of a 1980's Eastern European eatery! The staff were constantly noisily laying tables for the next meal, often removing our half eaten meal if we left the table to get a drink. The tables were far too close together and in regimented rows like in a canteen, and the food was generally of poor quality. I am happy to say in over 60 years living in England, i have never had an English sausage like the one in was served at breakfast today! There was no coffee or tea available except at breakfast time, and for those of us who enjoy cheese and biscuits with a glass of wine after a meal, cream crackers and grated'mouse trap' cheese is a poor substitute. The dining experience is not what we would expect from a 4 star establishment.

Will be returning soon
Arrived at 9.30pm just after the restaurant had closed but was told if we want to go to our room then come back in 30 mins they would arrange some cold meat and salad to eat. Very good service. Hotel rooms are lovely and big and we upgraded to a sea view for an extra €70 for the week. It was lovely to wake up to such an amazing view everyday. Food was typical all inclusive fare and yes we sometimes a bit cold but was sufficient to find something at every meal time. Staff were all very friendly and always happy to help. Lovely cocktails in the bar especially the Blue Sea cocktail. Nasko, who did the entertainment, is a very charming young man and does his best to entertain. Would definitely return again as had a lovely relaxing holiday in the sun.

This Hotel is not 4* The rooms are spacious but do need updating. They are cleaned daily. No kettle unless you pay 3 euros a day. The food is not good, the choice and the quality, always lukewarm. We were All Inclusive, Breakfast was about the best meal. Some guests were eating out in the evenings for Dinner. Stayed over Christmas, the entertainment was really poor. The bar situation in the day, all drinks were from the pool bar and served in small plastic cups, even coffee and tea for inside the Hotel, not very 4* Whist we were there there was extensive building work going on outside the Hotel, at the back and the front, very noisy !! Work starting at 8.00am until 4.00pm on weekdays. Not very relaxing if staying at the Hotel for the day. The staff were really nice and understanding the building work was not their fault. Will not be returning to this Hotel.

Check in was ridiculous, guy could hardly speak a word of English and insisted I did not have a room booked, took along time to sort. I was then put in a room with a building site as a view and being woke by the builders at 7am

A good hotel in an excellent location
The staff are superb, always friendly and helpful. Rooms are spacious and very clean, but the beds could be more comfortable. Food was always good and a wide variety on offer. The wifi area is next to the pool tables and was very noisy and we were often disturbed by dogs barking and noisy guests some evenings. This is our 6th stay at this hotel and we hope to return in the future as it is a well run, comfortable hotel.

Nice hotel near to tourist area and beach.
Booked for a week. Hotel reception manned 24/7 by friendly and helpful staff. Rooms very spacious and for the first time ever a comfortable double Bed! We were in room 423 so although we had quite a walk to get to room were not disappointed - corner balcony which has sea view and overlooked the pool. Breakfast really good choice but although "English sausage" they were cheap ones so tasted like it. Had dinner a couple of nights and was pleasantly surprised as didn't go until late at the choice still available - although they did seem to like pork steaks cooked in a variety of ways. Room cleaned every day by very pleasant maids. Only thing to fault was that although their was fridge in room would have been nice to have had tea/coffee making facilities as you were asked not to take drinks/food out of restaurant and I have a partner who doesn't do breakfast but loves a cup of coffee in the morning and I like a cuppa in the afternoon sometimes.

Pleasant hotel close to the beach & shops.
Had one week here in early January, 2015 and was quite happy with almost everything. Sadly, the hotel itself is very dated and could do with a complete refurbish, but having said that, it was very clean and comfortable. The staff were all friendly and ready to do anything asked. Food at all sittings was variable every day with plenty of choice, and well cooked. Bar staff were very friendly and accommodating, but short drinks were sadly disappointing with faux labelling and not tasting of anything in particular (these were for those on all inclusive status), if you wanted the real thing, you had to pay ie: Gin, Vodka, Brandy, Bacardi etc. Beer on tap was San Miguel (I think). Live entertainment was very good and different 6 out of 7 nights a week, no complaints there at all. The pool area has faux tree shading, which is really unnecessary as the sun doesn't reach that area until later in the day and would benefit greatly by replacing with proper collapsible sun shades, but there were always sun beds available.

Not 4 Star
Being regular travellers my wife and I look for comfort and service in our hotels and whilst this hotel was adequate it was short on what we would normally expect from a four star property. There were a lot of niggly little things - which taken on their own were not a massive problem - but adding them up did detract from the hotel's quality. Basically I believe that an overall shortage of staff was at the root cause of most of my niggles - or they are trying to run it on a shoestring. Here are some specific examples; Check in time 2pm; we arrived at hotel 2.15pm; room not ready till 3.40pm. 2nd day room not cleaned till 3.50pm; 3rd day it was 4.25pm; complained to reception-no further problems. Toilet rolls ran out and not replaced - had to collect from reception. Hot water in room allowed for 1 shower - then wait for water reheating before being ready for 2nd shower Towels - although spotlessly clean - were very thin and at end of useful life. Lifts - 2 out of 3 were the smallest lifts I have encountered which if occupied to to their max (4 people) meant an embarrassingly close encounter. Food - adequate if somewhat mundane/repetetive-eg fruit juice from powder, soups made from stock with that day's vegetables added,"plastic" chips. Pool - too small for number of guests and only open 10am-6pm - no early morning swims allowed.Queues at doors to claim sunbeds from 9.30. As I said,no great problems but not up to 4 star rating

This was a decently nice hotel which we booked for a great rate. The location was close to the beach and can be reached by the local bus route from the airport if you arrive on a weekday. We did half board and the food wasn't great. I've certainly had worse but it didn't make you want to come back for more. Overall a good place for the price.

Clean hotel, bad food, hidden charges with halfboard, poor customer service & inconvenient location
The hotel was very clean but I don't think that it deserves the 4* rating. The room was very big and comfortable but unfortunately the furniture was dated and the shower was just dripping so it took me ages to wash my hair. I was not satisfied with the quality of the food, there were many different dishes every day but I sometimes had the impression that it was not fresh. What really bothered me, though, was that even though we paid for half-board we were requested to pay for our drinks during our meal. We were charged 1.5euros per person for water and it was not even bottled. Given that we paid 5euros per person to get half-board and 1.5 euros for tap water I have to say that either the water was overpriced or the food quality was very low. The reception did not inform us about these hidden charges when we checked in either, so we were taken by surprise & when I complained I was told that I could either pay or drink the water in the room in which case 'I would die'. I honestly don't consider this proper customer service although not all fo the receptionists like that; some were friendly and dare I even say helpful as well. The hotel is located quite far from the airport and there is not much to do around, however we rented a car and this was not a problem for us. However, it can be quite costly and time consuming to see around if you don't have a car. In general it was a pretty decent hotel but I would not go back or if I went I definitely not get on a half-board basis.

Lovely area for a restfull holiday
My first trip to Tenerife and I will definately return. I loved Puerto de Santiago and Hotel Lagos de Cesar. I want a quiet relaxing holiday and this was exactly what I got. As a solo traveller I found the hotel and surrounding area very safe, clean and helpful staff. The entertainment every night was well received with something for everyone, magicians, spannish dancers, singers etc. Fernando the entertainments officer really tried to include everyone and his enthusiasm was infectious. All in all a delightful stay...one which I would hope to repeat.

Reasonable hotel, reasonable price
We liked the hotel and the food was nice - though it should have been kept a bit hotter. We paid for half board but only actually ate dinner half our time in the restaurant, which had no atmosphere at all and so it was nicer going out. Location wise, it's an easy 10 min walk to Playa Arena beach, which was good, though we were glad there was a lifeguard there as there were some very strong currents and rocks. I'd definitely recommend having a car though so you can explore the island - parking on the street is easy. The pool was good, though as others have commented, it would be nicer to have a 'shallow end', and it can get a bit crowded on the sunloungers around the pool - although we didn't have a problem finding one. Although I live in London, I didn't want a classic 'Brit package resort' with chicken nuggets, organised games in the pool and a blaring disco. Fortunately this hotel, though still clearly catering to the package holiday market, manages not to be too much like this. There are more German tourists than British ones, there is some local dishes served at dinner, and basically you are left to enjoy your holiday.
