Green, unique, comfortable, open loft cabin

Welcome to an exquisite, eco-friendly way of vacationing and getting away from it all! From its solar water heat to the recycled lumber, this cabin packs many eco-sensitive features to bring you comfort in style. Its artistic flair can be experienced in everything in the handcrafted countertops, the exquisite tree staircase, and right down to the mosaic bathroom floor. You'll be pleasantly toasty in the winter with the radiant heat and gas fireplace. Plenty of windows and open floorplan keeps the space light-filled throughout the day.

Need to unwind? Let the jacuzzi massage the tension away. Read a book in the airy loft. Watch a DVD. Or simply take a walk to the neighboring Cameron House (on the same property).

Biking, canoeing, trout fishing, hiking, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, are a few activities for you to enjoy on your vacation.

Eco Sensitive: This cabin was built in 2008 using sustainably harvested trees. The roof substructure and all major beams were repurposed from older buildings in the area. The building is mainly insulated with a green, soy-based spray foam insulation which keeps the interior warm and quiet.

The radiant heat and water heating system is powered through a solar / gas-boiler combination system. All makes for a quiet, even heat that foot-warming friendly. It keeps the air more comfortable and less dusty in the winter when compared to forced-air systems. This is a boon for those with indoor allergies and asthma.

Weekend Recharge
Great place to relax no matter the weather. We spent a weekend here and enjoyed just relaxing by the fireplace, in the hot tub, and sitting by the river. We also ventured out to some nearby hiking trails and had breakfast both mornings in Amherst.

Great isolated location
We had been here before, but about 10 years ago. The cabin is decorated with great care, and well stocked. Since the trees are now grown, it takes on a immense sense of isolation - a big plus in our opinion. Stores, restaurants, and parks nearby, so it's not remote. But if you're looking for solitude, this is the place.

Cozy cabin with evry thing you need.
This place is well built with lots of space. The AC kept us cool on hot days and the gas log fireplace heated the whole place quickly on the one cold rainy day we had. Good location; easy drive to Plover, Stevens Point, and Waupaca. Lots of lakes and hiking nearby. With so much private and peaceful nature surrounding you it's easy to just let the highway sounds fade into the background.

Kayak trip
We had a wonderful time staying here. Our mothers joined us as well as my daughter and our granddaughter. We all had plenty of room and everyone said their beds were comfortable. Our mothers were fascinated by all the old decor and unique items in the cabin. While my husband and I loved that we could launch our kayaks right from the cabin. We will definitely be making this an annual stay!

The house itself really was a magical place for the kids to stay! We really enjoyed the river being so close, although there were too many rocks and current to boat or swim much; there was about 200 feet we could get to on foot. There was no dock and the riverbed was gravel; we had water shoes, but should have brought bike helmets to use with the kayak. It is near the highway and the noise is noticeable, but a budgeted tradeoff. There are toddler and preschool outdoor toys, but nothing for our three elementary-aged kids, who enjoyed the Disney+. The back porch was great, but the benches for the picnic table need some TLC. The kitchen has everything you need including a junk drawer. The shower bathroom wasn't a great size/layout to help the kids, but the wood sink was interesting. We were very happy with the house and stay in general except for the dog hair that was everywhere. We knew it was a pet friendly rental, but that isn't usually an issue because rentals are cleaned in-between guests. I understood that maybe there would be a few stray pet hairs in some corner, but it was everywhere in the king bedroom, including all over the floor and comforter and even some on the pillows and sheets, plus on the lower and main floors and some chairs. We spent two hours vacuuming and changing the bed, plus used a lint roller on the other comforters and chairs. We also had to clean the floor around the table due to sticky spots, but appreciated the vacuum for mealtimes.

This rustic cabin was the perfect location for us to visit the USGA Senior Open at SentryWorld this week. Filled with interesting art and memorabilia, magazines, novels, and field guides, you can relax in the swing on the front porch or lounge in the hammock in the back. Bring your waders and fly rod, as the Tomorrow River is steps away at the back of the property. I can't decide which I enjoyed more - the huge whirlpool bathtub or yoga on the back porch in the morning accompanied by birdsong. We so appreciate the property owners allowing us to bring our dogs.
