Really enjoyed our stay at John and Liz’s wonderful place. Great communication by our hosts and addressed any issues/questions promptly. My only observation/request is that they consider obtaining a small Weber Bbq for their place as it would be the “icing on the cake” for their place!Kim

Always a Lovely Stay

Nahil 12 is like a home away from home. It has everything we need: kitchen supplies, drinking water, lots of towels, comfortable bed, pool, beautiful beach, close to activity and dining options, walking distance to Yal-Kul lagoon and Netflix streaming!! We've been back several times and John Swenney has always provided fast feedback and service. We love it!

lovely studio with full kitchen

We really enjoyed our third stay at Nahil #12! As always, the beach and the bay are amazing, weather was incredible, and the apartment has everything you need for a short to medium length stay. Plenty of beach towels, chairs, etc. We did have trouble with the shower to begin with as the water would keep cycling through scalding hot to freezing cold (it couldn't maintain a steady temp), but after turning the temperature all the way down at the boiler we were able to make it work fine. A couple of bits of info need updating in the booking info email, i.e The Green Eyes management office has moved location up the street and the back up wifi login info no longer works (the internet does come and go a bit... so if you are working remotely you might want to ensure you have international roaming and a hot spot set up). Shared pool and sun loungers down at the beach are lovely. We were a bit unlucky with having a very loud and inconsiderate family at another apartment dominating the pool area for a few days. They need to be reminded when they book that it's a shared pool and common area. Perhaps rent a private house if you need to blare music and shout all afternoon. Despite these few issues, the apartment is excellent, the location amazing, and all in all a very enjoyable vacation.

Amazing place to stay!

My partner and I had an amazing stay here over new years! The home was very clean and comfortable and was the perfect size for us. We were in Akumal for 4 days but staying here really felt like staying at a home - it was lovely! We felt very safe in the home and walking around and Akumal. Any time we had a question or problem, John was incredibly responsive and helpful. For example, at one point we were having a small issue with the hot water, and John called someone to come and fix it immediately. I would stay here again and I recommend it!

Perfect for our peaceful pre-baby escape

My husband and I have stayed in Akumal several times before this (in other rentals) and really loved our spot at Nahil this time. We are expecting a baby in 3 months and wanted to take some time to slow down and enjoy lots of snorkeling together. This place was a perfect fit: clean and quiet, with everything we needed to make our breakfasts and coffee in the morning (we also enjoyed a breakfast and a couple of lunches at the new Jungla Cafe nearby). We slept well, the bed was comfortable and access to the water was only a few steps away. We also appreciated that there were lots of hooks in the bathroom and outside for hanging our wet snorkeling gear. We love Akumal and were excited to see that it hadn’t changed drastically since our last trip 4 years ago! Although we were initially looking for an ocean view, the location on Nahil 12 in the back house was more peaceful and private than the units facing the ocean - we felt fortunate to be there and would definitely return for our next trip to Akumal.

Sehr geschmackvoll, liebevoll und gemütlich eingerichtetes Apartment. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Küche ist sehr gut ausgestattet. Das Zimmer wird jeden Tag gemacht und die gesamte Anlage ist sehr gepflegt. Auf dem Balkon kann man toll frühstücken. Es gibt sogar einen Sonnenschirm. Der Pool wird ebenfals jeden Tag gereinigt und überprüft. Der Strand wird auch jeden Tag gesäubert. Es gibt im Gegensatzu zum südlichen Strandabschnitt der Halfmoon-Bay sehr wenig Sargassum. Das liegt vermutlich an der vorgelagerten Lagune. Leider ist das Wasser in strandnähe sehr flach, was den Einstieg ins Meer ein wenig erschwert. Insgesamt war Nahil 12 ein sehr schönes und empfehlenswertes Refugium. Wir würden gerne wiederkommen.

Fantastic stay!

The condo exceeded our expectations. Everything was very comfortable. Location was excellent! There were spices and condiments to use which made meal cooking great! The ice maker was a bonus! Would love to book again!

Nahil is a wonderful escape. The property and surrounding area is quiet and relaxed. There are several really great places to eat breakfast, lunch, dinner, or just to go have some drinks on the beach. It's situated right on Half Moon Bay, which has its own coral reef. When the waves cooperate, it's a snorkeler's paradise. Even when the water is a little rough, it's amazing, you just have to work for it. Bring or buy water shoes though, as the way into the water is rocky. The local culture has an island-like feel, which means everyone is friendly and relaxed. Akumal beach and the plaza with the shops, snorkeling and diving tours, and even more restaurants is a 20-minute walk away. The Yal-Kul lagoon is a three-minute walk (a great place to snorkel). This is a wonderful place to get away to if you love the water, want to see tropical fish, rays, and sea turtles, and enjoy good food in a relaxed and quiet atmosphere.

The condo is in a perfect beach area. The pool was great and we had it to ourselves in the evenings. The beach was gorgeous. The condo had all we needed, and the ground staff were helpful. I want to go back. Highly recommend.

Great condo on the beach in Half Moon Bay Akumal!

Second time staying here. Love this condo. Very comfortable bed and living area with nice couch and TV, great little patio and steps away from pool and beach area. Snorkle right out your door or hit up the lagoon just around the corner. Well equipped kitchen but if you need anything there's stores and restaurants very close. It's comfort in paradise.

Magical spot

If you are looking for a quiet yet beautiful spot by the beach this is the condo for you. The condo is clean and beautifully furnished with all the amenities you need. The on-site staff is friendly and helpful. The crystal clear ocean is right out your front door and has the best snorkeling in the bay. We saw many sting rays, tropical fish, squid, barracuda and even a baby turtle. The grounds and pool are immaculate and relaxing and there is 24/7 security. The town of Akumal is quaint and has the most amazing restaurants for every flavor. This is a perfect getaway.

Akumal/Tranquilo

We had a beautiful vacation in the Yucatán. Akumal was perfect for our stay. And this home we found on VRBO was sanctuary. We couldn’t be more pleased. The home had everything we could need! Plus the location was excellent, not too far from Tulum and Playa del Carmen but just enough off the beaten path to have privacy and solitude away from all the craziness of tourists and big resorts. This home is a gem ✨

In Heaven Garden View with Amazing Snorkeling

We had an amazing and seamless communication with John, check in was very easy and the condo is even prettier in person. The grounds are very secure and well kept and the condo is right on the beach. Nahil 12 was an amazing place to lounge and land after long days snorkeling in the reef and ocean right out front. There are plenty of beach chairs to lay out on and the pool was well maintained and clean. Really loved this place and will book again for our next stay. The staff at the property was also very helpful and kind, housekeeping was secure and parking was always available out front. You'll love this place!

Absolutely fantastic property! John and Liz thought off everything. Anything we would need or want in a rental was provided. Beautiful surroundings amd short distance to shops and restaurants. Golf carts and bikes we're available to rent for cheap. We travel all over the world for work and pleasure and this was certainly one of best stays ever. The condo staff were super friendly and helpful as well as the neighbors. We didn't want to leave and we will certainly be returning soon. I highly recommend this stay. 10/10

Excellent stay

This place was perfect for our stay. Very private area with a more relaxed, casual vibe compared to other resort areas. Everything was clean and comfortable. Snorkeling in the front bay was beautiful. Hope to return in the future!
