Yes, we booked the cheaper non refundable rate but we also made the same type of bookings for the other 2 hotels in this trip, and both showed compassion and understanding, especially Radisson Blu in Bruges.
But not this one. We were not even asking for a refund. Just a voucher to stay at a later date when we are allowed out of Australia. Even an off peak one will do. But no, the hotel flatly refused despite pleas from Hotels.com and myself, given the unusual situation.
