Overall it was a pleasant stay. The location is great, accessible by public transport and in walking distance of many popular sites. The room itself was ok, however there was a terrible sewage smell from the bathroom. We had to run the taps and shower to get it to go away for a short while but after a day out coming back the smell was horrendous. Housekeeping did put some solution down but it only cleared the smell for a short while. There were also small flys in the room which we think were drain flys.. this was the only thing that let us down.

Not sure why this hotel is called boutique hotel, because there is nothing boutique about this property. It’s more of a factory! Hotel! To start, the rooms are so extremely small. We didn’t even have space for one suitcase in our room without not being able to walk from the bathroom to the bed and we had to climb over our luggage or block the door (very unsafe!!!). The quality of the room was very bad as well; towels were really smelly, the hair dryer was so sticky that it was too disgusting to touch and the shower was leaking, usb charges were not working. Besides that the housekeeping service was extremely poor. My elderly parents in law didn’t get their room services until very late in the afternoon. So every day they came back in the afternoon to relax they ended up waiting in the (overcrowded!!) lobby for 30/60 minutes because their room was being cleaned. Also the air conditioning was not working properly and on the last night we asked to change the room because it was so hot (remember our stay was in October, not hot at all outside) but even in the new room it wasn’t working and we woke up in the middle of the night because the panel started blinking like crazy. All together a very disappointing stay and I would not recommend this property. Only plus is the location, but there are many other hotels in the area as an alternative.

Horrible, absolutely horrible. First they gave us a room underground witch my family found strange and after not even 20 minutes in the hotel room, we noticed we couldn’t even lock our hotel room door which means anyone can bust in because our door lock was broken. Then we found so much ants and bugs on the bed and on the floor basically everywhere. We went up to the front desk to tell them about this and we even showed a photo for proof. And they offered to clean it up as if it were that easy to clean it up. After they offered a new room to us, which we thought would actually be in the upper floors so there would be no bugs crawling on the floors, but they just gave us the room beside, and there was still bugs, even a dead one on the bed. We didn’t want to cause them too much trouble so we were okay with it for now. Then we tried to ask for the wifi password, they said if we ever needed anything, we can dial their number and they would pick up, nothing. They didn’t pick up so we were forced to head downstairs. Some other things we saw were bugs such as lady bugs crawling on the walls and spiderwebs forming from lights. Not to mention that this is not at all worth the price. Around €300 per night? Not pleased at all. Whole family felt uncomfortable the entire night.

Our family loved our stay here. It’s perfectly located near to the museums and Vondelpark, and just a short walk/bike ride away from the city center. The hotel itself is very comfortable and the staff were all amazingly kind and attentive. They really went the extra mile to ensure our stay was as comfortable as possible. Will definitely stay here again the next time we visit Amsterdam.

Leonardo Boutique Museumhotel Amsterdam. Fantastic location (1/2 block from Rijksmuseum and 2 blocks from the other museums) across the road from a nice canal cruise. Walking distance from several other museums including MOCA, the Jewish, Hermitage, Steadlik, museums, etc. Near a great park, Vondelpark, nice to sit around and to chat with locals. In an interesting neighborhood, many restaurants and shops. Hotel staff is extremely helpful and accommodating (and oh those yummy chocolates in the lobby jar). Room was a bit small but sufficiently comfortable for 2 people.

Pretty good
Bathroom could use a refresh and a deep clean- mold in the grout and on fixtures. No toilet paper roll holder. Floor was very dusty and could use a clean. Otherwise good. Bed very comfortable, quiet, slept well.

I did a lot of research about places to stay before our Amsterdam trip... I perhaps should have done more. In terms of location, the Leo Boutiqe Museumhotel was great. We were easily able to find our way back to it when we went out into the town to go exploring (overall, the canals and centre of Amsterdam is easy to navigate). But some things to keep in mind if you're going to book a room here: 1) Not just here, but any hotel in Amsterdam - you do have to pay a 'City Tax'. This is for all visitors -and is about 40 Euro, so prepare for that. You'll be asked to pay it as soon as you check-in 2) We were checked in quickly, and took the elevator to our room. Booker beware - these rooms are SMALL. Our initial room was actually so small, that I immediately went to the window to look out because I felt very claustrophic. I had to return to the desk right away and explain I couldn't stay in a room that small (it felt like the walls were closing in on us). The concierge was very understanding, spoke to her manager and then showed us two other rooms to choose from. We chose one that had lovely floor to ceiling windows (and a view of the canal if you stuck your head right out), but the room was still the smallest of our whole trip. The bed was comfortable and the wall decor was nice, but the bathroom was almost too small to turn around in. 3) The breakfast had lots of options and a long serving time. Just don't lose your breakfast tickets!
