Compared to the other 5 star property I stayed at during this trip, The Standard did not compare well. Staff at breakfast tried very hard and were pleasant. My room was cleaned only when I directed the front desk on the third day of my stay that nobody had been in to clean the room. Soap falling on the pool deck from the window washers above. Room was spacious and I had a good view as I was on 18, which is the highest floor for the hotel. Elevator music did not change and was an annoying Garden of Eden vocal. Vibe is young and hip, your room key states "Tap me", your sign to clean your room states "Do me". There is a general lack of elegance and refinement at this property. Unless you are really craving bold colors and a 60's mod room I would looks elsewhere as Bangkok has other properties in this price range that deliver more luxury and refinement at this price point.

Super cool hotel with a fabulous interior and lovely spacious rooms. Staff were very accommodating and helpful. My only comment would be to have a few vegan options on the dinner menus, breakfasts were great though. Also loved the pool area! Would highly recommend!

Dare I say that The Standard has set the standard for service. Standard staffs are friendly, knowledgeable and approachable. It is like meeting an old acquaintance. The amenities and facilities are very clean and tastefully decorated. Make sure to include their breakfast into your package. Delectable classical Thai food that is very tasty in small palatable portion so that you can try everything in their menu. We nearly did. Anyway, a stay in the Standard is highly recommended. Very convenient with the connected BTS sky train station.
