Close to fish market, shopping and restaurants. Rooms were clean and staff helpful. Unfortunately it was a warm weekend and the rooms don’t have AC so very hot. If you open the doors to balcony, hear noise of bars all night. Also the shower door is not sealed so water spreads over floor and makes a mess

The room that I got was in the old part and poorly renovated if any. You could see pipes coming out of the wall. And not like in design style. In addition the room had a bad smell. The view was in front of the office building with direct view to the offices. No parking near the hotel. Breakfast was good.

This is the best location with the best view in Bergen. Rooms vary a lot in size, quality, and price, hall carpet is old, and the halls can be a maze. But good beds, great views, windows that open, excellent breakfast, and kind staff make a difference.

Unfortunately our underfloor heating was not working in the bathroom, which in turn led to the bathroom floor staying wet. Had to put towels on the floor to dry it. There was very little in the way of shelving, places to hang towels, or anywhere to put your toiletries. Also lighting wasn’t great in the bedroom even with all the lights on. Loved the outdoor patio area, which we took advantage of as much as we could.

Great location, not sure why other people complained about it. Very walkable to shopping and restaurants. I would advise paying more for either a city view or water view. Ours was a courtyard view that was not anything to look at. Staff is very nice, rooms are small but efficient.

We were given a top floor room with a slanted roof and windows in that roof. When the sun came out the glass heated and the room temperature was beastly. We asked at the front desk for help and the best they would do is hand us a small fan. So hot we even propped the room door open. If they try to offer a top floor room - RUN.

The main reason not to give it an Excellent is that the parking is off site. Otherwise, the hotel is excellent for its category. It is conveniently located for all the major attractions in and around the city center.

The multi-lingual reception staff were extremely courteous and helpful. The view of the harbor from our historic balcony was one of the highlights of our trip. Suggestion for improvement: especially given how many seniors stay at the hotel: add grab bars, non-slip mats to the tub/shower facility.
