“Best hotel we've stayed in in Australia. Lovely 1920s building, helpful staff, attractive bar, good location for many sites and on a number of bus routes (Canberra is not a very pedestrian-friendly city).
Only quibble would be that, as one of the, possibly the, leading hotel(s) in the Commonwealth capital, a wider selection of Australian wines, and notably some from the smaller wine regions (for example, Beechworth, VIC) could be available.”

“Lovely stylish room, friendly staff. No restaurant or bar inside the hotel, they are around the corner.
We had trouble finding the hotel due to major roadwork and this should be mentioned in the welcome message. We phoned the hotel twice for direction while driving around in circles and each time got a vague response. This was not how we wanted to begin our stay. A moment of good customer service to alert guests before they arrive would have been valuable.”

“A top notch experience for our four night stay in a one bedroom apt at East Hotel in Canberra. Underground parking was a key consideration for our stay and it worked well ($20 a night). Very pleasant and helpful staff and a great restaurant (Italian) downstairs where we had both breakfast and dinner a couple of times. Fast wifi. Amazing hot water (the hottest I think we have ever come across, anywhere!). Firm king sized bed with comfortable mattress topper was great. Aircon was effective (its...
