"This a well presented hotel. The staff were very helpful and friendly. I had requested gluten free bread for my breakfast and the kitchen staff supplied me with bread, cake and biscuits every morning. The room was very clean and comfortable. It is around a ten minute walk from the hotel to the centre of Aveiro. Very happy with our stay at the Alfonso."

"The apartment is located right at one of the small channels. It's light and airy and has everything you need. It's a five-minute walk to many of the sites you want to see. But let me say that Paula is probably the BEST host I have ever had with VRBO. There were fires going on around Aveiro, threatening her own home, but she made sure that we had everything we needed and checked in with us. "
"Apartment, in a pleasant & convenient part of Old Town, was easy to find and Felipe provided the key code etc in good time. The living and eating areas were very clean & well presented. Kitchen was excellent and well equipped (but the frying pan could do with replacing). Otherwise, the implements were excellent and plentiful. There is a dishwasher and washing machine which could be useful. The bedroom was large and bed good but did creak on moving. The bathroom was a good size but was let down by a lot of black mouldy areas on tiles, and a musty smell. We're surprised other reviews did not mention it. This is obviously due to the lack of aeration as the extractor is not strong enough, nor is there an opening window to use. Unfortunately, the upstairs apartment did create some noise (creaking & heavy walking) when moving around; at 6am it is inconvenient. Obviously, this could not be the fault of Felipe. Our other disappointment was that a building 30 metres away along the road was being demolished for 4 of the 6 days of our stay! It was very noisy from 8am. According to the notices on the building this should have been known since April. Notices had also been stuck to the apartment. We had to make detours to the apartment as the access roads were cordoned off. We would have appreciated being informed of the demolition as it did spoil our stay somewhat. It was a real shame. "
