Our 1948 MidCentury vacation home is nestled on 4 acres of land & boasts 3 bedrooms, 3 full baths, 2 half baths, Bridal Suite (4th bedroom), a 1970s TV/Game Room, an authentic vintage Tiki Bar, & Children's Playroom. Outside we have a large pool (guaranteed to be open 5/26 - 9/5, but will do everything possible to have it open well before and after those dates based on weather!), hot tub (year round), outdoor seating, wood bridge, nature trail, & wood burning fire pit. A complimentary bottle of wine, snacks, & other high end amenities are always included. Located just 15min away from Downtown Des Moines & a mile away from a grocery store/restaurants.

The space
Our 1948 Mid-Century vacation home is nestled on 4 acres of beautiful open land. We welcome you to enjoy a unique and authentic experience jumping back in time with themed rooms ranging from Art Deco, Country Cottage, Groovy 1970’s, Vintage Tiki, and classic Mid-Century design. Our home sleeps up to 10 people with 2 Queen Beds, 2 Twin Beds, and 2 Double Sleeper Sofas. We also have 3 full baths and 2 half baths. Beyond having a charming 1950’s kitchen and spacious dining and living areas, we also have a 1970’s themed TV and Game Room stocked with over 30 games and puzzles, an authentic Tiki Bar with a peacock chair, wet bar, and bar supplies, a Children’s Playroom filled with books, toys, and a fort, as well as a Bridal Suite/Dressing Room with an Art Deco vanity that doubles as a bedroom - and outside, a hot tub available year-round!

From late Spring through Summer, we have a large 16x40ft pool (guaranteed to be open 5/26 - 9/5, but will do everything possible to have it open well beyond those dates based on weather!), lounge chairs, outdoor eating areas, volleyball net, corn hole, and many more outdoor games/activities. Year round we have a wood burning firepit and spacious grounds to explore including a wood bridge and secret nature trail.

Other amenities include: A complimentary bottle of wine, snacks, sparkling water, coffee, tea, and hot cocoa. Every bedroom and bathroom has organic cotton bedding and towels. Our bathrooms are stocked with True Botanicals Shampoo, Conditioner, Body Wash, and Lotion. We have over 100 books throughout the home for guests to enjoy. Our game room has an abundance of vinyl records and games. Our kitchen is stocked with Brightland Olive Oil/Vinegar, local honey, basic pantry staples, Great Jones cook/bakeware, blender, air frier, cookbooks, and Lenox dishware. We have 2 smart TVs (one off the kitchen and the other in the family room). We also have natural soy candles throughout the home.

We are located just 15 minutes north of downtown Des Moines and are within a mile of a high end grocery store and shopping complex filled with great restaurants, coffee shops, and boutiques. We believe the Des Moines area is a hidden gem with an abundance of fine dining, antique stores, high end boutiques, breweries, bike trails, the largest skate park in the country, live music, family activities, nature trails, lakes, and farmers markets.

Air-conditioned accommodations at this vacation home offer private pools and coffee/tea makers. Accommodations are furnished with sofa beds, dining tables, and kitchen islands. Kitchens or kitchenettes offer refrigerators, stovetops, microwaves, and cookware/dishes/utensils. Bathrooms include showers and hair dryers.

Smart televisions are featured in guestrooms. Business-friendly amenities include desks and desk chairs.
