“Rate: 8/10 When we arrived there, there was no power until 3pm which was said to us when we arrived at Jenna’s. They were great help with the Tuk Tuk ride to many places (paid cash to the driver, no issue). Construction was taking place. The language barrier between the chef and us was not good. Breakfast was supposed to be free but we were charged for vegetables which is part of the free breakfast (language barrier). There was no bartender so we ordered beers all 2 nights but they had happy……

“We stayed in August and it was hot, we had a room with air condition. It was very noisy but at least cooled the room. Continental breakfast comes with fruits, bread, butter, jam and a drink, all the rest is extra. The hotel was more isolated and not in any town center. We had a private tour of the towns around the lake and it was very convenient for the boat to dock at the hotel private dock and pick us up and drop us off there.”

“We loved our 4 day stay at Kula Maya. Super friendly staff, clean hotel and room, tranquil location providing privacy and intimacy while being just a short walk to the main shops and restaurants. Would definitely recommend! Our favorite part was the Yurt, a big space accompanied by a large, outdoor bathroom and private balcony.”

“This boutique hotel in San Marcos is def for adults. Very few amenities. Very simple. Great location next to the park and close enough to restaurants. However when you exit the boat there are no clear signs as to what direction to go. San Marcos is a small quiet and relaxing town.”

“Friendly staff, clean rooms. Good hot water in the afternoon and evening (solar powered). Excellent sauna and hot tub. They provided a fan and ice upon request. Excellent yoga class (for a fee). No safe and no refrigerator. Poor lighting. We expected the room to be nicer.”

I assumed boat transportation would be as easy as other parts of the lake which led me to not have transportation when it was time for me to arrive at the hotel. The hotel was incredibly helpful and helped me get on a public boat which saved me from paying $100 for a public boat. The hotel is VERY secluded and it felt like I was the only person there. I definitely should have picked something closer to other towns because I felt like I wasted a day of my……

“I had a very good stay at UXlabil. The property is impressive and the view is extraordinary. The staff was especially helpful—they found me a fan to make the room more comfortable in the heat and offered extra pillows. Everyone did what they could to make my stay enjoyable. The on-site restaurant is very convenient, and the food was filling. I didn’t take advantage of the included breakfast because I had a very early morning and was out the door by 5:00 AM.
