“Pleasant stay. Clean room. A not too loud alarm did disturb our sleep a little but it must have been nothing untoward? - fire regulations said to wait in bedroom until otherwise advised... fortunately no such advice was forthcoming!”

“I had a lovely big room and bathroom. Both rooms were clean, the only comment I could make about the bathroom is that a simple spray of mould and mildew remover would get rid of the black line along the bath. The breakfast was excellent and well cooked, the girl who served was pleasant and chatty. Only downside, for someone who is just over 80, I found the stairs difficult to negotiate with my case, it would have been helpful if the young man who checked me had asked if I needed help. “Lovely old hotel with public bar. Breakfast included whichbis good. Close to the village centre shops and bus transport very close.”

“Booked last minute during cycling trip. Staff wentvout of their way to help with luggage and security of my bike. Room had everything and more including stocked fridge and microwave. ”

“When we arrived we were told our room was no longer available due to a 'maintenance issue' so had to book somewhere else at the last minute. The lady that we spoke to was nice and did say they had tried to contact us during the day about the situation. However, checking the message we found in Expedia, it was only sent an hour before we arrived late afternoon. Not helpful when you are driving long distance. Might be a one off but, obviously, have to score the hotel low in this instance.”

“Perfect location. Bus stop and train station are close by. Property run down and in need of repairs. You get what you pay for! No internet in the rooms only in the pub next door. Can hear pigeons outside and sounded like something was in the loft. ”

“Very nice place to stay and twinned with The County Hotel which is where you have your very good breakfast. Staff were great, rooms modern and clean. My room was hot but that was due to unusually warm summer. Will return again after the Victorian Tap reservation debacle.”
