"This was a first visit to a casino hotel. What a great surprise! Great modern foyer space with secure access to the elevators - keycard only provided access to the actual floor. Large reception desk with the area opening up to the casino floor. Personnel could be trained to provide a "welcome story" on the property and the offerings. It would go a long way to encourage full use of the hotel. The room was large, well appointed with refrigerator and coffee machine. A safe was also available along with other amenities. The bed was extremely comfortable with ample pillows. The bathroom provided space for two persons and the shower was modern with soap, shampoo and conditioner provided. The corridor to the room was well lit and clean. A special treat was being roomed looking over the parking lot - no vehicle noise - and overlooking the stables. The early morning provided a chance to see the racehorses being exercised and seeing the morning gallops. Marvelous! A chance to get to the actual field would be a very special tourist addition/event to a stay. I have already recommended this as a halfway stop to fellow travelers."

"The breakfast staff was excellent, overall the food good but the eggs were terrible! In general reception was good but when we checked in the receptionist was not very “positive “ nor was she welcoming. The young gentlemen and a younger lady (both evening and early AM hours) were fine but our check-in was very underwhelming. Nice location"

"Complete dump. Don’t understand how they even stay open. There is a helicopter pad in the parking lot. Very interesting. Don’t think it’s seen a helicopter in years or maybe decades. I would have been interested to ask about it but good luck with that as there were enough problems getting questions answered about my stay. There was one young lady at the front desk who had it together and was very helpful. Also another young lady in the restaurant bar who was extremely nice and helpful. Other than that just incompetence and indifference."

"What started off as a continuation of a great trip to Louisville quickly devolved when we checked into The Galt. Immediately, there was no where to pull in and check-in, so we had to park and come upstairs to the lobby. When we got checked in they put us in the tower across the street, but would only give us parking for the east tower. Every time we had to go to our car, we had to go up one floor, change elevators to go up to 3, go across the atrium to our building and into another elevator that went to our floor. When you're lugging around bourbon and luggage, this becomes a huge problem. Upon checking in, we loved our room and view, until I made the decision to shower. The shower was broken and there wasn't enough water pressure to rinse your hair out. It took 4 ignored maintenance requests for them to finally send somebody out... at 10pm. We had to leave our room at 10pm for an hour to get the part fixed, when our first communication started at 9am that morning. There was no apology until I texted again the final day when they asked about our stay and they comped my parking. While parking was awful too, my issue was with the basic amenity of a shower, not the price of parking. I came to scout out hotels for a long term business solution, and I definitely left with an answer of which one I won't return to, and not because there was an issue, but because of the response during and after."

"Our room was comfortable. The only thing to me that lacked was that the TV was too small. It had a nice shower and comfortable bed. I did love the historic atmosphere of the hotel—almost like stepping back in time! It was also convenient to several nice restaurants. Great breakfast we had at the cafe! The check-in, restaurant, and valet staff were very helpful and courteous!"
