“We loved walking down to the lodge for drinks and meals. The staff were all very friendly. We stayed in Cabin One and enjoyed the view of the lake and the wood burning stove. The table was big enough to play games. The bed very soft and squishy while we prefer a firmer mattress. The bathroom was from another era, but it was clean and typical of the North Shore. We would stay here again.”

“Perfect for a solo retreat! I needed some relaxing time alone in the woods (in a beautiful maple forest, no less), but still wanted to be somewhat close to civilization, and this was the spot! I got such refreshing, restful sleep every night in this absolutely quiet, tiny (but airy) playhouse of a cottage, thanks to the super cozy and comfy bed! It was all just so sweet—even if, as I did, you just want to hang out and read as you listen to the rain all day. Grand Marais is only eighteen minutes……

“My stay was wonderful. It was so dark at night and so quiet. I saw the Northern Lights and a shooting star while sitting on the deck. The cabin was very clean, neat and cozy. The bathroom was clean and I was happy to find out that it had lights. It was close to town but felt like it was miles away. I would definitely recommend staying here.”

“Lovely remote lodge in beautiful area. The room is small, but well appointed. You will lose cell seevice on the gorgeous Gunflint Trail, so make sure you have saved your check in instructions beforehand. Note that many lodges on the trail have restaurants, but not this one, so bring food with you before you arrive. They are last on the trail except a campground, so once you’re here, you’ll need to have everything. I came thinking I might get to see the Milky Way since it’s so remote, but there……
