The pictures definitely mislead you. The rooms had no wardrobe/ dresser, no headboard, no artwork on the walls, just major scuffs and dents. The screen to outside was just hanging there with a view of a trash littered hill. The carpets in the halls were stained and ripped. The pool was in the parking garage and you couldn’t get into it without help from an employee. When we got there this note told us they were doing renovations.

Blvd Hotel was not terribly bad but I do want to say it can be better, by improving a few things. I stayed a few days so I was in need of a laundry room which it did not have. I had to wake up early on 2 occasions to Uber to a laundromat to wash damp swim suits and towels. That was an extra cost. As for the swimming pool too small and why is it across the parking lot, in my opinion unsafe to be walking in a swim suit to find it on the opposite corner of the parking lot. Room was fine except for the sink water tasted like rusted metal, so I had to go buy water bottles in a near by liquor store to brush our teeth with a cup of water. No complimentary water in the room. Another noticeable thing walking in to our room the door and floor would make noise scared us a few times, until we realized what the noise was, the wooden part holding the hallway carpet was loose. And lastly I want to say the staff would say hello and good morning only because it is their job. I didn't feel them hospitable or extra friendly. Outside the hotel there was a man sleeping on their property. That definitely gives a bad image to the hotel and scares guests. They promote walking distance to Universal Studios area so walking while passing naked guys, drunks or homeless people is terrible. Not safe! I have to think hard before staying here again.

Let me start by saying that the location for a trip to Universal is perfect! Also, the staff were very nice! If this Hotel was priced like a budget hotel, I would have had lower expectations, but at over $300 a night, I would never stay here again. Our sofa in the room was damaged and extremely worn (melted holes, sucken in arms and stained) While the room was “clean” it felt dirty due to unkept furniture, stains on walls, hairs left behind that did not come from our family. The pool was so scary and freezing that my kids (who usually swim anywhere) didn’t want to swim. I picked this hotel because of its modern cool vibe from the photos online…nope! Must be from the first day! They said they were remodeling, but not until days before we were expected to arrive. Overall, our stay was fine, but like I said this, in my opinion is not worth the money they are asking!

Problems with the gym; air-conditioning not working in rhe gym, no water, no towels. Gym hours 7:00 a.m. to 8 p.m. in a modern world of 24 hr gyms. Great location however; 5 minute walk to the subway to Hollywood Boulevard.

Property pictures show updated remodeled rooms, however my room was worn and washed out. No body wash provided even though there was an attachment for it. Bathroom cabinets were old and water damaged. My door wouldn’t close without pushing it hard. Bathroom door had been repaired with many screws to hold in place and not finished. Tacky. We received a text after checkin and in room saying sorry the rooms don’t look like our pictures. Really!! We paid and reserved based on the pics. I feel it was bait and switch practice.

This hotel is OK. Too pricey in my opinion but its about location, location, location. Its a 5-10 minute walk to the shuttle which takes you to universal city. So they can charge what they charge because of this convenience. Otherwise- the beds were terribly uncomfortable. Like sleeping on a board and on my king bed i had 5 very small, deflated pillows and the bed was just made weird. One thin blanket in between two flat sheets and that was it. The AC was very noisy. Oh and the pool... advertised as an indoor pool.. that is kind of a joke. We were led to the back of the parking garage to a small room with a very small pool. Kind of in between the size of a jacuzzi and a pool. We just laughed it off but it was definitley not what we were expecting. Staff was nice though and accommodated our family to stay in rooms just across from eachother. Probably wouldnt stay here again though.
