Hotel Sevilla is a gorgeous property with an unbeatable location right in downtown Mérida. The service was excellent, and the food was exquisite. Everything, from the bar and breakfast to the pool area and spa, was impeccable.
The décor is Tulum-like and minimalistic, which I loved. The pink towels in the room were a lovely touch. I also appreciated the mini-split A/C, which worked perfectly, as well as the beautiful light fixtures and thoughtful light switch design.
The reason I’m giving it four stars is that some basic room amenities were missing. There was no coffee in the room, no shower cap, no hair drier (although once I asked for one, it was provided) and no safe. What had the biggest impact for us, though, was the bed—it was extremely firm. I don’t even use a soft mattress at home, and this one was still too hard for comfort. I asked for a mattress pad, but unfortunately they don’t offer them.
Overall, it’s a beautiful hotel with excellent service, but a few added amenities and a more comfortable bed would make it a five-star stay.
