"Considering the price, the apartment was ok. There is an air fryer, kettle and toaster. Washing up is a challenge in the small sink in the bathroom. Filling the kettle is difficult as it doesn't fit under the tap in the bathroom! The bed was ok, but you can feel the springs. The TV didn't work as the aerial lead was damaged. The hair drier was dangerous as it was full of dust and smelt of burning. The views over the bay were spectacular. Ok for a couple of nights, no longer though."

"A fabulous find, a short distance from family, perfect for the grandchildren, when the arrived they said it was magical when the saw the marina, they loved walking our dogs down the canal towpath and the crazy golf across the road at the farm park, plenty of places to visit around the area and a lovely place to relax in, a lovely pub with great food next door, there’s a few issues with teal house but nothing that would put us off , we will definitely be back in the near future "

"Loved the secluded location within walking distance of the southern end of Lake Windmere. The cottage was smart and very clean, and well equipped, but we were stumpted on how to adjust the settings on the upmarket oven (a manual in kitchen drawer would have helped). We found that we had to be vigilant about the step in dark slate floor between bedrooms and kitchen/lounge (we used a bit of white cardboard to visually remind ourselves.) Had a great stay at The Bothy, we highly recommend it "

"The hotel was in a perfect location only downside our room was so hot 🔥 when we said about it they said yes that room tends to be hot next time tell them you don't want that room! Also there was a large hair in amongst the toast we didn't complain at breakfast but on checking out said and was told if we had said you could have had something free off breakfast menu! Wouldn't stop us going back though ."

"Our second visit and it again was spacious, clean and flexible accommodation and the whole property is very well maintained. Having the Lemon Tree restaurant on site is also great; we had a special celebration there - food and choice was great. Only thing I didn’t think about was I booked a 1 bed apartment for my 91 year old mother in law and hadn’t realised there were apartments that had the bedroom upstairs (I hadn’t made any special requests). There was a great en suite upstairs which motivated and she was fine just something to note for the next time we go. Also, the bar has a little shop for essentials and just enough for us to get things for breakfast in the last day of our stay without having to bring too much with us."

Parking was fine and we were able to park late morning and then check in late afternoon and not try find parking in Bowness which was helpful. As anyone that had checked out that morning had gone. "We love this hotel and its' location. Our main criticism didn't affect our stay, it's just that it is rather tired in places. Everywhere downstairs and the landing was perfect. Our bedroom furniture was very tired and the carpets had some permanent marks. The outside of the property is also very tired, a lot of paint is flaking and the gardens aren't as well maintained as they could be, lots of weeding needing to be done. It is a lovely quirky hotel and it's a shame these things let it down a little."
