This is a very neat, well-kept hotel. A little pricey, but worth it! I tried to understand the owner’s personality but couldn’t quite figure him out. He helped us at the front desk, which I appreciated. I have a service animal, and my wife has one who is currently taking a break from working while she undergoes a medical procedure. When she goes out to run errands, I sometimes walk both dogs together. I got the impression the owner didn’t like that and may have assumed I was lying. I tried to say hi since the dog on-site was an absolute sweetheart, by the way! But he stared at me and walked away. Maybe I misread the situation, but it made me feel bad, as though he thought we were being dishonest. I don’t mean any of this maliciously. In fact, I want to thank him for sharing a little about himself with me. What really stood out was how fair he is to his employees. I’ve never heard an owner speak so highly of their staff or care so much about making sure they earn a living wage. That says a lot about him and his values. That’s exactly why I believe the price is worth it. Knowing the owner values his employees and wants them to earn a fair living makes a difference. Overall, we would stay here again because the hotel is so neat and well-kept. Despite my mixed feelings about our interaction, I can appreciate the good he does, especially for his employees. I wanted to share both sides of our experience fairly.

Clean and spotless room; family-run business for 44 years; attention to detail; kindness of all staff; rooms refurbished in 2023. This is an excellent establishment, and is the oldest hotel in Turlock. It is quiet and extremely comfortable. The breakfast choices are waffles with maple syrup, oatmeal, apples, cereal and excellent coffee.
