Shilo Inn Oceanfront

Pros: Close to Beach.
Cons: A complete upgrade of this facility is in order. They also need to get a better chef as the food we received was cold even though the waiter was very
Location: It is the beach and the location is right in downtown.
The room was very small and a very musty smelling. They need to have this location upgraded completely. We were very disappointed in the accomodations as it was really outdated and old. It was my worst hotel experience we have ever had and the price was way out of line.

Was not impressed with the room at all, lacking in many maintenance items, got a stained sheet put on the bed our second day, would not recommend.

The hotel was close to the beach.

Pros: It was close to the shops and the turnabout.
Cons: Maintenance on everything, including the wi-fi.
Location: There are great shops and restaurants within walking distance. The turnabout and the beach is just around the corner.
They need to work on the elevators and the wi-fi. The bedding could use an upgrade. We had a leak in the sealing where you could see it had leaked before. So they need to do some serious upgrades.

Pros: It was on the beach.
Cons: Renovate to bring up to standards. Give staff power to fix issues on the spot.
The first room that was given to us had a bad odor in it. Upon discussing it with the front counter, a different room was offered to us. We spent one night in the room but the next day the order appeared in the room. After discussing it with the front desk they said that since the trip was booked through a "third party", Expedia, they could not do anything. They offered to move us to a better room but to charge us an additional $300. Then they offered to send us to another Shilo Inn but the one that is away from the beach. This option required more work for us as well which we prefer to spend enjoying our vacation. They finally called and offer to put us in a better room at no cost after an hour or so of being on the phone with the Expedia staff to remedy the situation. After spending a couple of days in their "executive Suite" the room was still dirty and in 2 days, they never came to do a maid service or bring fresh towels even after a skim them twice.

Pros: The convenience of the shops and beach.
Cons: They need to update the rooms if they are going to be charging people almost $200 for a small room with horrible beds.
We paid way to much for this room and the bed was hard as a rock. They need to update the room and get new beds.

There is no a/c in the rooms so the rooms are miserably hot and uncomfortable. There are constantly doors slamming day or night and the walls are very thin so you can clearly hear the people next to you. Not a relaxing experience at all

Adequate location close to the beach

Pros: Nothing except that it was close to the beach. We had stayed there before but this time we noticed a marked decrease in the facilities or services.
Cons: The facility is worn out and needs a complete paint job. The rooms need a complete overhaul with new furniture and luggage racks. In general lots.
We arrived at 4pm for check in. Very slow check in and then once checked in about 4:30pm they indicated a room was not available yet because they had been so busy the staff couldn't keep up. We were to come back later. Around 5pm I came back and they gave me a very small room on the 2nd floor room 205. There was NO place to put luggage. The bed was terrible and the mattress was completely broken down so bad we could hardly sleep. The mattress needs replacing immediately if not sooner. Bathroom had NO glasses. There were two glasses on a table in the sleeping area. The room is way over priced for what you get. I would not stay there again or recommend this to anyone I know.

Cons: Worse attitude of manager. Fire the manager first. The staff were very good
Location: Good location
They give you a very bad room. When you complain they send you to see better rooms. The manager was very rude. Their staff was very nice. When you see the better room, then the manager try's to upswell you the room. She said that room is $50USD PER NIGHT EXTRA. This is black mail. In my room the toilet was not working. The water was going on to the floor when you flushed. The maintenance man Mike was a really good guy. The lights in the bathroom were flashing on and off. He changed bulbs but it did not work. We had to live through that for 3 days. The room was very small and very hot .no AIR CONDITIONING. THE HOTEL PROVIDED OLD FANS TO KEEP THE ROOM COOL. GARBAGE HOTEL. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND IT TO MY ENEMY.

Got checked in an hour and a half Late while we just sat in lobby. Was told we would get phone call when room was ready, we did not. We had to ask if our room was ready after an hour and a half waiting and it finally was. And no ac In the rooms, we had to leave our slider open, which is fine, but it was Smokey at night:( staff were wonderful though
