See a traditional fishing village neighboring the colorful fantasyland of Tokyo Disney Resort in this city on Tokyo Bay in northwestern Chiba.

Urayasu is split into two halves: a historic fishing quarter and the extraordinary Tokyo Disney Resort. Visit this exciting city to experience Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea, as well as the theme parks’ shopping malls, restaurants, entertainment complexes and upmarket hotels. The traditional fishing village sits on the shores of Tokyo Bay, near the delta of the Edo River.

Explore Urayasu’s historic area and learn about its fishing heritage. Visit small restaurants and try local seafood or tour some of the traditional fishermen’s cottages near the water. Check out Urayasu Local Museum to see pictures and maps of historic Urayasu, as well as a large replica of Old Urayasu near the canal. The re-created village is complete with tobacconists, fishmongers and traditional homes. You’ll also find the Urayasu Comprehensive Park (Urayasu Kaihinkoen) near the bay. This wide, open waterfront space has green lawns and looks out into Tokyo Bay and the Sanbanze tidal flat.

Head to the Maihama district of Urayasu to reach the fantasy world of Tokyo Disney Resort. Tokyo Disneyland is a fun-filled destination for young and old, where you can climb aboard Disney-themed rides and meet the famous Disney cartoon characters, such as Mickey and Minnie Mouse. Blast off into space in Tomorrowland or visit reproductions of Wild West frontier towns. At Tokyo DisneySea, visit different port-style zones from around the world, including Arabia, the Mediterranean and Central America. The resort’s Ikspiari mall has a wide selection of retail outlets, as well as a cinema complex and restaurants. Check out the Bon Voyage store to pick up Disney merchandise and souvenirs as you exit the resort.

Tokyo Disney Resort is connected via its own monorail system, which is accessible within a 2-minute walk from Maihama Station. Urayasu has several train stations on the JR system. Reach the area within 45 minutes from Tokyo Station by rail. Urayasu tends to have humid summers, so visit during spring or fall for the mildest weather conditions.
