About this property
Rivendock Rookery II: Waterfront Home w/Dock & Stunning Views
"WOW!!!" It's everyone's first word as they step into this peaceful, harmonious vacation home filled with windows and light. Singularly magnificent water views pair with professionally curated decor and amenities to rocket this vacation retreat to the top of your list. In Oriental, the sailing capital of NC, many homes can boast pretty spectacular water views. However, Rivendock Rookery II moves beyond this--its view encompasses everything that makes the area iconic to boaters and nature lovers: the mighty river, the statuesque frame of the Robert Scott bridge, the friendly and boat-speckled waters of Green's Creek, and finally, the generous personal waterfront that forms the prow of the property. That transition is quickly becoming a metaphor for what this magical place imparts to guests--they can quickly move away from the overwhelm of life to a place where they can greet challenges anew with a healthier perspective because of what Nature offers. The sun's warmth and the river breezes will encourage you to take a deep breath, to relax, and to begin that journey. Tune into the natural world and seek to spot a pod of dolphins or a group of skates fishing collectively. Sway your cares away on the hammock, swing your legs like a kid while you fish from the dock, observe the nesting birds on the nearby aerie or enjoy the simple pleasure of roasting marshmallows with family or friends at the fire pit. Just 6 minutes away is the quaint and truly lovely Village of Oriental, where you can find unique shopping, dining, entertainment, boat rentals and lessons and even an award winning brewery! Day trips to Atlantic Beach and New Bern are within easy reach as well. So come kick off your flip-flops and relax awhile. We'd love to have you! Please note for security, there are 4 exterior cameras; they cover a view from the approach, under the house, and out to the water and also the yard.

This house is fantastic! We saw dolphins and a rainbow on our first night. We love the small-town vibes of Oriental, plus the sailing day camp is a must if you have littles.
Property was as described. Beds and furniture were comfortable and clean. Water views were great. Perfect location for being on the water and a quick boat road to the ocean. The sunroom was great and was cool enough in the morning to enjoy the water with a cup of coffee. My family will definitly stay here again.
We had the best weekend! The property was as described, clean and comfortable. Our dog was the happiest guest of all with water to play in, a nice porch to dry off on, and a fenced area to run around in. The crate was so nice to have. We brought our own and were surprised to find one already set up and waiting for him. One of my sons spent most of his time looking for sharks teeth under the house and the other enjoyed paddle boarding ( we brought our own). The highlight for us was paddling to the town for coffees as the paddle was closer than driving! The view was spectacular. A truly relaxing weekend !
The house had a great view of the water and central to everything. There was an animal urine smell when we arrived and house was a little dusty. Also, NO condiments. Not even salt and pepper. Extra fee to have a boat. Expensive weekend.
I was looking for a quiet, serene and beautiful place to take a personal retreat. This home was all that and more. The house is beautifully decorated, immaculately clean and has water views from every room. It is even better than the pictures. The kitchen was open, bright and airy and a joy to cook in. The bed and linens were so comfortable. The property is beautiful, the position on the water is perfect, sitting on the doc with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine was lovely. The sunset and sunrise was breathtaking. Unfortunately, some bad weather came about, but the host was more than helpful and things went smoothly. I can't wait to come back and visit again!
Property is beautifully decorated. Everything was perfect! Plenty of glasses and you could find everything you might need in kitchen drawers. Scenery is magnificent. Thank you!
I wish would of had more time. So relaxing and nice
The only thing I wish the sunroom had AC. That’s the most awesome Room but you can’t use it when it’s hit and humid.
Such a great get away weekend spot! The views from this house are amazing! It is truly the perfect location. The house is extremely clean and has everything you’d need. The property manager, Maria, is super helpful and was great at communicating with us - we had a minor issue and she got back to us right away and sent someone out to fix it within an hour. Highly recommend this place - perfect location not too far from town, beautiful sunset and sunrise views, great fishing, big open yard for the dogs to play, perfect spot to put in to kayak, large wrap around porch for morning coffee or evening drinks, comfortable beds, large kitchen and sunroom for entertaining. 10/10 stay! We will definitely be booking this get away spot again!
It was very frustrating that the ice maker did not work. The grill which we thought was for guest to use was nasty. There was a skillet/pan left on the grill that had never been cleaned. For the price of the house, there should be a TV service. Even in the cheapest of motels/hotels, there is a TV! This was our second time staying there and probably will be our last.
The property was extremely clean and was furnished with very good taste. We were very impressed the property and would make a couple of minor suggestions, 1. We found the two showers to be slick and could be a liability- that is an easy fix with a bath mat or the “ grippers” that fit on the floor. Night lites for the bathrooms would be helpful. And possibly some type of darkening curtain for the guest room “slider”. If a light is left on in the bathroom, it shines directly onto the bedroom. This house rates way above ur average rental. We appreciated the quality of the linens and the kitchen furnishings. This house was decorated in very good taste and we would highly recommend it

Cute home-a work in progress
I feel like this home is being updated to sell. Molded refrigerator with broken water and ice maker, no ice trays.
AC wasn't working well first day there, got them to lower AC temp, thinking it was just that but ended up being miserably hot for the first 2 nights. Between rock hard beds and 85 degrees inside we couldn’t sleep.
Sent a repairman out on day 3 and it was fixed in 10 minutes. No offer to make this up to us at all. 😖
Deck boards marked for replacement-had to deal with splinters and broken boards-not safe for my elderly parents or my dog.
Pictures were deceiving. They show a big pretty yard with water access. Not the case. The nice neighbors offered use of their water access to get the kayaks in.
Went to fish but because the sailboat is permanently docked at the end of the pier-it was difficult to fish and the 4 of us couldn’t fish at one time. 😖
Overall would never stay here again-or rent from these owners. The rental company was fabulous!
This property is perfect for a quiet get away. The house is extremely clean and well equipped. It appears to be recently renovated and furnished with nice high end furniture, linens and housewares.
Maria was easy to deal with. Check in and out were very smooth.
The living room and sun room have very comfy furniture. Plenty of seating for lounging or napping. The beds are comfortable and furnished with very nice linens. Bathrooms have plenty of towels and are roomy.
Kitchen is well equipped for whatever you might want to cook. Nice cookware, dinnerware and hardware.
Honestly, this house was so well stocked, we realized we didn't need half the stuff we brought. There are plenty of towels, sheets, blankets, throws, paper towels, toilet paper... you name it.
The deck is a bit dated but has new adirondack chairs for lounging ... both high and low. There was low boat traffic but just enough to keep your attention and give you something to look at.
The yard is VERY large. It gives you plenty of privacy. Oriental is nearby (5 mins)... great little grocery store, restaurants, parks, etc. People here are VERY friendly. Everyone waves.
We took this trip to disconnect from work and it did not disappoint. I cannot wait to go back.
