Even though the pool was closed for néw cool decking application, hamburgers and hot dogs were offered along with $1 drinks from 10:30 - 4:00. Made us feel welcome. Pool was reopened on the day promised. Ana, housekeeper, was fantastic taking care of us. She seemed genuinely concerned to meet our needs. Kitchen was great.

1. When we arrived, we discovered that the pool and hot tub were under refurbishment. That was the whole reason we picked this hotel. We paid $575 for two nights' stay - that's far too expensive for what we got. 2. Receptionist stated that the Expedia booking would have mentioned this. It was - at the very bottom of the booking information under disclosures. 3. Finding our room in the dark was a nightmare, buildings are poorly sign posted and there are no lights on signs to show what the building numbers were. 4. TV didn't work when we arrived - luckily reception sent someone, it was the remote batteries that were dead. 5. Couch had stains on it and multiple long hairs on it. 6. Shower was dirty with mold. It was gross. 7. Room smelled funky when we arrived. Overall, if the room had been clean and the pools had been working, I could have overlooked the other issues. It was a lot of money to pay for this quality of hotel.

We enjoyed the spaciousness of the room and the amenities it offered: alarm clock, charging lamps, nice desk area. Unfortunately our sleep was interrupted the second night as there was poor soundproofing and the upstairs people were up and about all night and in fact had EMS come early in the morning. It was remedied by the front desk with a new room and an offer for anything else. We had free meals while there because the pool had been closed and we were able to have a late check out no problem. William at the front desk was amazing. Black out blinds would have been great and the water temperature was on and off in the shower room 1. They said they would try to fix the water temp. Grounds were beautiful and the people were friendly. We did find it difficult to walk around to places and had to navigate our way in some precarious paths to get better routes. So if you like walking to restaurants etc they aren’t closeby.

The pool was closed for several days when we arrived at the resort. Those days were during my stay. I never received that information in an email or while booking. A pool is definitely a requirement when staying at a resort in the desert. There was no explanation and the person at the desk was very unprofessional and was NO help. Also, I had been calling for days before to confirm and their phone number wasn't working. I didn't check in at the hotel or cancel at that time. Please help.
