Room and cubardes too small
Maybe not (currently) the most upmarket area and at first glance looks will deceive you. This is a well looked after classic home, that has everything that you need for a short stay. Will return if we are in the area again.
We had an awesome stay and the staff was friendly
Hotel in the centre of the CBD and hence town. Clean and staff helpful. Note could be noisy given its central location.

This is a large 1900's hotel in the centre of town opposite the city police station. Good secure free car parking to the rear. Locally it is very quiet and so, we ate in the restaurant which is buffet style, cost 195 Rand each. Choice was quite good. The breakfast is in the same area. Good for a ...

When we reached the Guest House we hooted because we didn't know that there was an intercom. There was a man outside who was very rude to us because we ...
From up in the grandstands, the view of the surrounding crowd at Pietermaritzburg Oval is a feast for the eyes. A large event here is something everyone should experience.
Going there is part of the enjoyment, as it's located 300 miles from the national capital, Pretoria, in Pietermaritzburg.
There is no need to spend every hard-earned dollar on your hotel room. Opt to stay at one of the reliable budget accommodation options that are in the surrounding area. The Ilawu Hotel and the Road Lodge Pietermaritzburg come recommended.
No matter how exhausting your day was, if you book a room at any one of the upmarket hotels, you'll wake up feeling refreshed and recharged. You'll find superior facilities and a sophisticated vibe at the Protea Hotel by Marriott Hilton and the Lincoln Cottages.
Be sure to sample the coffee and gorgeous snacks available at McCafe Pietermaritzburg, aspot close to Pietermaritzburg Oval. If you're after a full meal, taste the local flavors at Old Fashion Fish & Chips. To finish the night right, take one last short walk and grab a couple of beers at Zafrica.
The rail station, Pietermaritzburg, is located 0.7 miles away from Pietermaritzburg Oval, making the metro a convenient way to go.
