"This space was great. It’s very clean, easy check in and in a walkable area. There is no dedicated parking spaces, but you can park on the street for free on weekends. During the week there is a parking lot just 5 minutes walk away. There was never a day that I couldn’t find a space. The apartment is within walking distance of a lot of things, but it’s still very quiet inside. The bedroom windows have a door cover which keeps the room dark, we slept great. There is laundry in the building, not in the apartment. It’s a washer and you can hang dry. It’s a nice perk if you need it since accommodations with laundry are not common on the island. I would definitely stay here again. "

The staff from the front desk to room cleaners and everyone in between were so friendly and helpful.
Your day starts with an exceptional breakfast spread - I have yet to see a better one in Europe.
The hotel is situated on the marine close by he old town, with plenty of dining options near by.
Ending your day either at rooftop pool or spa - complete with steam and sauna facilities relaxes those muscles after your day exploring the island.

"We spent a fantastic week at Casa das Palmeiras — we loved the small inn feel — beautiful decor and thoughtful touches and warm welcomes — and the great central location.
We could walk to any number of cafes, restaurants and shops yet our room was quiet and calm in the evenings for a great night's sleep.
Everyone we interacted with was so kind and helpful. Our very early flight meant we missed the last day of exceptional breakfasts — but there was a to-go package waiting for us with treats and juice boxes.
Great amenities — extra towels for showers after visiting the iron-rich geothermal pools, that incredible breakfast!, and always available cofffee — were much appreciated.
This was a perfect place to launch into adventures around São Miguel and return to comfort each night. "
"This was our first trip to San Miguel and to Hostel Matriz 55. We had a wonderful stay there and Pedro and Susana were excellent hosts! They were very helpful with suggestions of restaurants etc.and made us feel right at home. The patio on the top floor had the best views.
We would definitely stay here again when we return to San Miguel!
