“Fabulous experience. if you want the wild/lodge experience but still a staffed hotel with a bunch of services then this is for you! We were in the middle of the wilderness, with birds and sloths on site, but still had room service/clean up and buffet style breakfast and a pool! Absolutely recommend. good distance to all the sites/activity but far enough from the tourist trap that is la fortuna!”

“La atención por parte de Francisco como encargado fue excelente, se evidencia el deseo de hacer las cosas bien, hasta el mínimo detalle”

“En réalité on nous as changer de villa a notre arriver nous disant que l autre était en remodelation sinon c était parfait”

“Great quiet Costa Rican-style cabin on a nice, secluded property close to everything.”

“Un lugar precioso con un gerente estupendo que te ayuda en lo que puede. Lo recomiendo cien por cien.”

“The host was helpful and the place was nice.”

“The views were gorgeous. The overall setting was amazing and the restaurant next door was very helpful. Communication for anything you need at the room could be finicky. Overall pretty good place to stay, close to La Fortuna.”

“Chambre propre mais assez éloigné des activités. Petit déjeuner tres compliqué et communication toujours long”

“Beautiful, nice and clean set-up. ”

“Fantastic stay, clean and comfy. Difficult to find with the Google maps directions given, but owner was very helpful and allowed us a late check in”

“This place was perfect!! It's a peaceful beautiful location close to La Fortuna but away from the tourist area. Fran was an amazing host!! We stayed here for our wedding and they treated us to a complementary float breakfast and even carved us a handmade ornament with our wedding day date on it! This place is great!! 100% recommend!”

“Beautiful treehouse stay! The place was clean, well-kept, and very comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend it.”

“Joshua was the property manager and he was very responsive. The house has everything necessary for a nice stay. Coffee, filters, oil, spices etc. the pool was lovely. We had a lovely breakfast of chicken tamales made by the owners mother. The elder came over and pointed out the sloth right behind the house. We loved everything about our stay and would stay again.”

“We had a great stay here. The home had a great amount of space for our group. We loved the private location, beautiful landscaping and made great use of the hot tub. It rained and rained while we were there so we never got to swim.2 things to note that weren't totally clear from the listing. This is one of 3 villas on the property which are all separate from one another but are in close proximity. This means you may hear other groups and they will all have access to the shared space (pool, grill……

“We had a great time at FINCA el Refugio de Papito. The experience will stay with our family forever. The hosts were welcoming, friendly and went out of their way to make sure we had a Pura Vida experience. Whether it was fishing in the pond, seeing the sloths, macaws, iguanas, turtles or herons it was fantastic. Their offers of fresh coconut, plantains, and fresh cane juice were well received. Highly recommended and we hope to be back one day. Muchas gracias!”

“The property is beautiful, with such amazing views, so many birds to see each morning! Special shoutout to Pablo- who was very responsive and also helped arrange wine bottle for us at a late hour. Would definitely recommend this place. ”
