Very relaxing and enjoyable.

Cons: Would have been nice to know ahead of time a collared shirt is required for dinner and no flip flops for men.
Went on our honeymoon. No crazy loud partying just beautiful scenery and very relaxing. Able took great care of us at the pool bar. Will definitely return again.

Not American Friendly

Pros: It was quiet, housecleaning did a very good job.
Cons: Treat all nationalities equally.
Ok resort, not very American friendly. Cater more for Europeans. Cocktails were watered down significantly. Not very organized at check in. Not at all what was advertised. Pool was not very clean.

Allego Playacar Not a 4 Star Resort

Pros: A lot to do but too far apart.
Cons: More bilingual employees who understand and speak english. More times to eat, should be able to eat 24-7 if on vacation should not be limited times.
Location: Locations of things to do not very convenient, should have free hotel shuttle service into Playa Del Carmen and local activities not take taxis......
Was just a basic hotel with no air condition other than the rooms and 1 dining room which you have to reserve 24 hours in advance. First night there was very uncomfortable sitting in extreme heat dripping sweat while you ate. Food was left out in the heat all day in tubs of ice which was always melted. Game room was a joke, pool table rack was broken, one fan above pool table broke, air hockey broke no music in game room or at pool area. Only had 2 places to eat and 1 snack area which only had frozen pizza that was cooked and served, very disappointing for a 4 star hotel which was not a 4 star resort maybe a 1.5... Complained and was upgraded to a 5 star resort the Belsero was definitely a 5 star just lost one day of doing an activity since it took over 4 hours to move hotels and re checkin to the new one. Long process for checking into hotels need more upgraded computer systems to do more efficiently. Guest relations not very helpful at the Belcero was rude and not accommodating on where dining rooms were located walked around resort looking for a restaurant that we reserved night before wasn't told where to go until we asked several other people was late getting to our reservation. Communication barrier need more bilingual employees ..... Will not be traveling to Mexico again!

This is a 2 star hotel. The food wasn't up to par and there is no air condition in any of the entertainment rooms, mind you your dripping sweat constantly when in southern Mexico so when your having dinner or in there so called sports bar you want air!!

It was nice place. No complaints at all. Very nice place the beach was beautiful. The room are clean the food was good too.

Would not recommend

Pro: -Dinners were good -Nightly shows were nice -Pretty outside of hotel, pool area, & beach -restaurant and entertainment staff Cons: -Breast fast and lunch buffets (and we're not picky people). We actively tried to get out of this all inclusive hotel so we could eat decent food. -Drinks (never tasted like what I would order- tasted off- so I just drank water instead). -Weren't given the room we requested (We even called a few days before to be sure). -Bedding wasn't changed til the end of the week. -Second floor rooms have thatched roofing (holes in them, birds waking you up, & smells musky). -Some front desk staff were rude.

Outstanding newly renovated resort

Pros: The quiet relaxing environment on sunny days.
Location: Outside the social market area; great for those looking for a beach / pool time.
Among many of all our trips around the world, this was one of the nicest resort: very clean, quiet, food is excellent, staff very pleasant, pools accommodating, beach with white sand.

Hotel needs maintenance

Pros: Good food, good service in restaurants and bars, and good nightly entertainment.
Cons: Grounds landscaping, umbrellas or palapas at beach, general maintenance of facilities, new roofs on all rooms lobby and beach bar. More food variety.
Location: Great location near Playa del Carmen
We experienced a tropical storm which resulted in our room flooding. It took all day for hotel to move us. Second room also leaked and had mildew. Poor tree cover made resort seem sparse and not tropical. No shade at beach and minimal at pool. Massive deposits of seaweed on beach daily which was slow to be cleaned.No beach toys.We ate at one"Italian specialty" restaurant and it was terrible, so we ate at buffets the rest of the trip. Time share and or trip salesman hang out in lobby area and harass you constantly.

1st time In playacar

Pros: liked the quaint condo-like setting of the rooms. updated. cross between a boutique and resort. reasonable clean good food. close to beautiful sea..
Cons: pool bar, drinks, more secure place to store bags if early arrival. upfront honesty about timeshare details. fix leaky shower door. no dressers.
Location: good location to downtown. 5 min taxi ride to food and shopping and ferry to Cozumel, good location to sky dive, parasailing one hotel down.
check in was good considering language barrier. was fast, got in early and had to leave luggage out front. was" well looked after"( however, I separated my money so I would not have all eggs in my basket BUT was missing 2-100 bills when got to the room with luggage.( just saying could have happened at airport as well, as our luggage zippers were undone when they came through the carosel)..... we COULD access our luggage in order to change clothes as it was so hot and we wanted to get to the pool area. room was amazing, location to the pool and beach was great. food and restaurants were fine. typical all inclusive. drinks were poor as they usually are at all inclusive. no upper shelf liquor, always out of stock. poor mixing of marguaritas and dacquaries but we understood with the high volume of clients didn't allow for good quality. good location to down town. taxis were available through hotel. a bit pricy considering so close. my main complaint was the time share lure. we were told we were just to look at a sister hotell and would get a free breakfast and for looking at the hotel would get discounts and free gifts. but my kids were nieve and I thought they were just wanting us to come back and stay at a more expensive hotel,... 3 hrs later and tips for breakfast and tips for high pressure saleswoman , I finally walked out. never again. lesson learned. you don't get discounts unless you do timeshare...kinda left a sour taste other than that a good experience.
