:-) A Lovely Stay

Pros: We were even lucky enough to have a local Green Tree Frog (I've nicknamed Ernie) share our porch/verandah!
Location: Very close to the Marina, main street and a stone throw away from 4 mile beach. Great location!!
Reception staff at Mantra Heritage were always friendly and helpful. In particular - Emily, was well presented, thoughtful and professional when providing information and tour booking assistance for us. The facilities at the hotel itself are a bit dated but nonetheless still very clean and comfortable. Any issues we had was resolved quickly. The nbeds were comfortable, and overall it was a peaceful environment for some shut eye. The pools and sundecks were lovely. Highly recommended for couples and young families.

Fantastic apartment on macrossan street. Right in the heart of where you need to be whether dining, exploring the markets, the lookout or heading to the marina. The two pools are beautiful and clean with friendly staff always willing to help. My only concern is the bed. We stayed 4 nights and on one night slept on the couch because it was too hard.

great location. balconies to our apartment were dirty and never cleaned, likewise outdoor furniture. our king size beds were two singles tied together with plastic shopping bags and consequently the beds moved about. reception unattended at night and consequently tended to be noisy at night in the pool area. we were in 1401 which had no lift access.

Room was not represented accurately when booking. Very dated, bad odour, no couch, terrible outdoor area. Noisy - children running past, doors banging, traffic.

Rooms were clean, for the cost of the room at $178 per night we expected the rooms would be serviced daily, none of the booking info stated otherwise, pool area's are great. Just didnt feel it was great value for money

Good location

Overall we enjoyed our stay, the hotel staff were very friendly and the location is perfect for just wandering around Port Douglas. The room itself was a good size and quiet even though we were above the Main Street of Port Douglas. Upon entering I thought the room was clean, however, within 1min of putting my 8 month old on the ground to crawl around her legs and feet were black so the floors were not clean after all! The bathroom was big with a great spa shaped bath (kids loved it!), however it had mouldy grout and silicone as well as a big mouldy patch in the corner of the ceiling which was a bit off putting. The bed was uncomfortable and both my husband and I had sore backs after sleeping in it all week. The pool area is great. If you're looking for a room to just sleep in while you're out exploring the area then this hotel is perfect.

Very disappointing

Pros: Location
Cons: Cleanliness standards I suggest that your staff go into the rooms and turn all the switches on and off to ensure that they work
Location: Everything accessible from the main street.
We had booked a hotel room as we would be out and about for most of our stay. Upon arriving we were extremely disappointed with the room - especially the cleanliness. The toilet had been used and not flushed and there was hair on the seat, the shower also had hair on the walls and visible soap scum on the base, shower soap dish also disgusting. This appears that the bathroom was not cleaned before our arrival. There were drips on the walls which could probably have been wiped off easily. The fan above the bed was so rusty it was an eyesore, not to mention the mouldy smell as soon as you walked in the room. And to top everything off, the spa on the balcony was broken - the dials for the jets on the left hand side were broken, when we went to turn it, it came off! I asked the reception staff if an upgrade was possible, but as it was peak time, nothing was available (we were staying for 6 nights). The second day we were out all day on a tour so it wasn't possible to speak to anyone. On the third day I managed to speak to the manager who gave us a complimentary upgrade to a one bedroom apartment. This new room was much cleaner than the first but also had it's fair share of maintenance issues (we left a list for the staff when we left as these issues didn't affect us too much): exhaust fan in kitchen broken, fan knob in bedroom broken, globe above couch out, bathroom door got stuck. We will never come here again.
