What we didn't like was the quality of the breakfast. At the Hampton Inn which is much less expensive, one is treated to egg white frittas, oatmeal, bacon, fresh fruit, etc.
At the Berkeley one is treated to doughy bagels, pre-packaged muffins, Fruit Loops cereal.
We should also mention that there is a $30 overnight parking charge and then waited for 25 minutes for the valet to show up with our car.
All these "amenities" for $100 more than what one would spend at the Hampton Inn.
