My second visit to Iberostar Tucan.

Love the resort. My only reason for not giving the resort a total rating of excellent is due to the food. I am a picky eater. At times I found it difficult to find things l liked at the buffet. The speciality restaurants were excellent . I would go back again. The food issues are more me being picky and I love everything else!

Wonderful trip. Staff was exceptional

Pros: Everything
Location: Took tour to Tulum, Cenotes and Akumal, was a great experience and guides were very knowledgeable. Could walk to down town in about 30 minutes.
From check in to check out everything was wonderful. Staff was always there to help. Food was better than expected and with lots of choices. Never a problem finding a chair on beach or at pool and the walk to the beach thru the jungle is always an adventure. Lots of animals to see. Rooms were clean and well stocked. Samuel, the lobby bartender, was wonderful. I definitely plan on returning. Well worth the money.

Wonderful vacation spot

Cons: mash potatoes were reconstituted dehydrated and the guacamole was not as good as the guac at the Iberostar in Cozumel
Location: Parasailing and jet skiing available on the beach
Pros: Great white sand beach with miles to walk and nice aqua colored water to swim in; Wonderful friendly staff, especially Lester and Alejandro who worked with my son on his homework; good nightly entertainment, pretty good food, palapas cover all the pool chairs for those who want shade, large pool and plenty of orchestrated activities, Howler monkeys and all the other wildlife in the jungle were fun to watch; beautiful grounds. Cons: nice shower but no tub if that's important to you; food was overall very good but the mash potatoes were reconstituted dehydrated and the guacamole was not as good as the guac at the Iberostar in Cozumel.

Good family hotel.

We (grand parents, children/spouses and 4 grand kids aged 6 to 14) the week of December 17, 2016. It was a great place for the kids. They loved the beach and pools. Consequently it went well for everyone else. The food was good we thought and certainly plentiful. Rooms were ok, but shelf space a bit lacking. Staff was great. Net the Tucan provided us with a great family vacation. We would stay there again.

Beautiful resort

This was our 13th trip to Mexico and this is the most beautiful resort we have stayed at. The rooms were clean and well kept. The grounds of the resort were amazing. It was like being in the jungle. so much wildlife. The beach was clean and well kept. I recommend an Ocean Front room( it may cost more but well worth it). Ten steps out your back patio and your on the beach. My kids stayed in a standard room and it was very nice as well. The staff were pleasant and helpful. If you wanted room service they were there in minutes. It is also close to lots of activities. A short taxi ride gets you to several local attractions and shopping. 'We will definitely return.

Good bargain but fall short of 4 stars

Pros: Price, beach, drinks and pool.
Cons: Food, service and skip the sales pitch.
Let me start out by saying the trip package was quite a bit less than some of the others for the same location. Price wise I feel like we got a deal. The hotel itself is beautiful and rooms are comfortable if a little outdated. They keep the entire facility very clean. There's sort of a nature park in between the main hotel and the pool/beach area full of animals and is very cool and not something you typically see. The pool is great and the beach is even better. They have a bunch of thatch umbrellas and it's not hard to get a spot if you show up before 10. Our impression was it felt like a really nice hotel that management decided to try eek out all the profit they could. There's heaps of food but most of it wasn't very good or flavorful. This was our biggest disappointment. They only let you sign up in advanced at two of the signature restaurants and they only permit one employee handle the reservations. Any others have to be made at 9 AM which invariably resulted in a line of unhappy people. We also were approached several times to attend a 90 minute sales pitch for signing up with Iberostar. They offered some free stuff in return, but seriously who wants to do that on their vacation?

Nice but staff sucked

Well it started off bad because when we arrived at midnight the older gentleman who checked us in was vary rud and disrespectful. Until I pulled out my money so I can buy a extra week for a friend who came along on the trip. Then he had security follow us for two days like we didn't notice. But didn't let that ruin our stay. Just because of that incident I give it a thumbs down.
