“We loved our two nights stay at Melfort House. It was peaceful idyll that restored us somewhat as we were nearing the end of our road trip through Scotland. “There was no restaurant as advertised on website and on hotel notice board. Room very tatty decor. Heater in bathroom and bedroom didn’t work. Window cracked and others filthy. There was also an 18 birthday party below our room with noisy music going on to 1.00am. No way is this a 4 star hotel. Also info given to us about nearby eating places was incorrect. We complained to managress who in fairness was very apologetic and refunded our stay.”
