On the first night of my stay, we went to dinner. I ordered soup, And it was brought to me Luke warm at best. The waiter never came around to check how things were, And when he did come around with the bill, I mentioned that I had had this soup in front of me, which is now cold as it was never actually hot. He did offer to reheat it, but I am not one to send food back to the kitchen, Since the server acknowledged the issue, I would’ve presumed that he would’ve credited the bill for the cold meal that I did not finish, But I was charged regardless. Needless to say for the remainder of my stay there, we chose to eat offsite for every other meal.

Not happy with our room. First of all we had a parking lot view next the people above us walked so heavy that the noise was very disturbing

Although the description said there was an elevator, it isn’t in all the buildings . The person at the desk worked hard and found a room on the ground floor that we needed since one of our party couldn’t climb steps. In the first room we had, there was no battery in the smoke detector and it kept beeping.Maintenance did fix it. Also, the bathroom window wouldn’t stay closed. In the second room, it appeared that the insides of the smoke detector were missing - Food in the restaurant was very good ! All the staff members we dealt with were very nice and helpful

This is sort of an upscale retro property which was really charming and nice. Beds were comfortable and the property was beautiful. Really enjoyed staying here.

I enjoyed the comfortable seating under the shade trees in the courtyard. However, the cushions need to be cleaned. I enjoyed an ice machine on every floor. The two elevators made it great for heavy luggage.

Outdated. Very poor lighting in the room (only two lamps) and no charging areas near bed. Could plug in on a wall by the bed and leave device on the ground or put it over on the desk which wasn't next to the bed. The fridge is stored in the bathroom which was very strange. Very old sheets/blankets/pillows/comforter. Its definitely more of a 1-2star hotel.

This place is so amazing!! The room was so spacious and came with plenty of amenities that really helped make our stay memorable. The staff was very accommodating, and Julia was as especially helpful! Very worth the money.

Checked in fine, woman at the counter was very helpful for providing tips on exploring State Street. However, upon going into first room, the fridge doesn’t work, AC was very noisy, and the room smelled very musky. Called the front desk, same woman, I asked for a different room three times. She wanted us to just wait for maintenance to come look at the fridge. I had to insist on a different room. The second room had the updated hard floor, but was only a king size bed. We had my teenage son, we need two beds! So the third try, she gave us a room with two beds, the fridge worked and the AC unit was acceptable. I paid $342 for one night and expect a good room the first time, even if it’s Santa Barbara. Come on. People work hard for their money. Old bath fixtures. Cleanliness was acceptable, not spotless. I loved the garden view just outside the room, though. That was very nice to sip my coffee. Coffee shops are in walking distance, although you’ll need your phone navigation with the foliage in the area. My 8am shower was fine, but around 9:15 or so, only cold water, so my family had to take a cold shower. The beds sink in the middle. If you are on a tighter budget and willing to drive more, nearby Lompoc offers decently priced and clean hotels. Overall, if you’re looking for location, acceptable cleanliness, take early showers, and do not have back problems, this hotel is good. It was quiet, which I appreciate. Do not settle for a subpar room, though.

Grounds excellent, landscaping excellent, room great and everything worked. Soap has a lemon scent. Very nice hotel. Restaurant doesn't open for breakfast until 8:30 AM, but many other options nearby.
