First the positive - Large and roomy with a very comfortable bed. Nice open beam ceiling was charming. The negative - we could not access the entry door to the hotel. I called the help line and he sent a maid to try to help. After 30 minutes she could not fix our access problem so we went to our room and unpacked. The maid came later and said they had fixed the glitch with my code and then it worked. They wasted an hour of my time standing outside in the heat!!

The room is very spacious and decorated very nicely. The bathroom is huge. Robe and slippers are provided. An espresso machine with Nespresso pods is also available. There is also a mini fridge. Staff is not present on property. You are sent an email with your room code. The location is ideal!

This was my second stay at The Winston and it was just as lovely as I remembered. We took our dogs with us this time and we were pleasantly surprised when we saw the nice set up waiting for them that included food & water bowls with treats and blankets for each. I definitely plan on staying at The Winston every time I visit Solvang.

Never experience a place with no staff on premises. But real people Were only a phone call away. It was well organized enough that I never needed any assistance. The room itself was very nice, and the bed was Very comfortable! I would stay again!

The instructions to the “ self check in and parking where a bit confusing” when we arrived and check in our tv was not working . It took them 2 hours to get it resolved and at first it took over an hour to get a response via the text message system .

The room was clean, bigger than we thought it was going to be and beautiful (loved the way it was decorated). The room's amenities were great and was exactly as it was listed on the website. There was an honor bar, which we did not personally use, but nice to have. The location of the hotel was right in the middle of Solvang and it's walkable to everything. There is parking, but the day we were there, there was a farmer's market so the street was closed. Now, we opted to wait and move our car later, but they did say that we could wait in a particular area and they would let us in (instructions were provided). The only issue we had was during check in. We never received the email with check-in information and when we called, they said that they tried to call me earlier and they were not able to reach me (I would assume that the information would have been shared by Expedia, but I guess not). I will say that the people who assisted us were really nice and helpful, but it was still frustrating. When we got to the room, from the second we attempted to put in our door code, it would not work. The hotel did send out two really nice people who were eventually able to reset the code and we were able to get into the room. This situation is the only reason why we couldn’t say that it was excellent, but we would give it another chance in the future.
