“I have stayed here two times this past year. This stay was particularly unpleasant. I was surprised that at check in there was no receptionist; rather a remote console with a televised person, who never smiled, and who said that he was home rather than at the property. I am not at all pleased about this. What if there was an emergency that needed an on-site person at the desk. Room was quite small especially the bathroom, toilet was mounted crooked on the floor, Body wash dispenser came off from……

“You are literally on Tomales Bay when you stay here. Two of our 4 nights, about an hour before sunset hundreds of birds, mostly cormorants gave us a show right off of the deck, diving and flying. Other times we got to watch pelicans repeatedly circle and dive. One morning an otter appeared. We hope to return.”

“We routinely stay in Pacific Grove but deviated north to Petaluma to visit a sister. Found dog friendly reasonably priced Metro within walking distance from Petaluma's colorful downtown. Got a queen room which, despite being rather small with a few very tiny tables and a very large TV, worked out perfectly for us. There wasn't a fridge or microwave, however ice and a hot water dispenser were in the lobby at the bohemian coffee counter. (bring an ice chest) The young smiling host was genuinely……
